11.01.2007 Raging fury finishes TSS! by Dalrek

Back from being MIA, so I better make the update I promised everyone. I can only agree with what Damide said on the Tide page. Not even the best movie director could have staged a better finish than we saw on finishing TSS on Antonius Bayle. It was really a close race.

Raging Fury chose a different path when it came to priorities in regards to Ashengate vs Frostcrypt. It is always a tough decision. How long can you keep working on one specific mob when there is a whole other branch to explore and conquer? With the risk of falling behind, we chose to stay in Ashengate and finish Lethar 2 before starting a new progression path. Luckily it paid off. With hard work from the RF team, we beat Lethar in early December and started working on Frostcrypt access. We entered Frostcrypt just before our x-mas break and ended up clearing the first instance in a few days, but getting stuck on not receiving the flag we were supposed to on Lorekeeper Grenwald

After our holiday break, we came out with all guns blazing. People eager to raid, with renewed energy after being pushed hard to finish FC flagging. Finally we could do what we do best instead of doing weird quests. It was time to kill some big bad guys. We redid the first FC instance on a Tuesday, got the first 4 events in FC2 down on Wednesday and Thursday and faced Beltron the Shadeking on the Friday. Impressive job from all our members. So we start from scratch on Shadeking and 2 first attempts get him to 70% and then 60%. Time runs out and we go back to the drawing board and rethink the tactics needed for the fight. After clearing re-popped events for a few days, we get back to Shadeking...only to have the event crash the zone and having to end the night because clearing back will take too long. This happens a couple times and we end up having to do re-popped events again. Yay! In the meanwhile, Tide kills Shadeking and although I would have loved to be first on him, I will be the first one to congratulate Tide on the accomplishment and my gratz tell was sent not because it was the right thing to do, but because we know what it takes to do it. Every guild that kill end zone bosses among the first 5 or 10 guilds have busted their asses off to reach that point and deserve recognition

We think we found out why the instance has been crashing on us and we get to try out our new tactics. Each try getting him lower and lower. We are aware that Tide is working on Lethar at the same time and while I prefer to focus on our own performance and not on other guilds, I would be lying if I said its not a motivation to me to have a goal and some friendly competition in reaching that goal, in this case being the first guild on AB to finish The Serpents Spine expansion. We go again, getting him below 40%, losing people along the way...getting him to 30% and things start getting scary....20% and things are out of control. With Beltron at 3% and desperately trying to squeeze out the last DPS we need, we realize we need one more minor adjustment and we have to take the wipe. But instead of pointing fingers and blaming each other, we can see how close we are and everyone gets that extra boost they need to go again even though its starting to get late and we know it will probably be the last attempt of the night. We can’t let him stay up!

Last try.....We get Beltron the Shadeking down. And not only did we get him down, we destroyed him! You get the feeling that everything is going smooth and when you see the Main Tank still standing proud with Beltron at 20% and below, while not seeing people spamming raid say with names of those who died, you know its a done deal. The best feeling there is and a nice adrenaline rush. With this last kill done, I’m proud to say that Raging Fury is one of the still very few guilds that have finished The Serpents Spine expansion completely. Thanks to the competition for keeping us on our toes and pushing us to continuously improve and give our best. And big gratz on Lethar guys.

Last I am proud to say that with the help of Deillusional our Raging Fury Item Database is now up to date and includes TSS loots as well. Enjoy!

22.12.2006 Raging Fury enters the X-mas instance! by Dalrek

Happy holidays everyone!

The year is coming to an end and with that comes the time to look back and reflect on the year that has passed. Another eventful and exciting year for Raging Fury. Seems that time just flies when you are having fun. I had to cheat a bit and use our some of our pointsystem logs to even remember where we were one year ago.

Seems that 1 year ago, we were farming stuff like Citadel of Anguish, Vishimtar and Demiplane of Blood heavily. On january 3rd we killed Mayong Mistmoore for the first time. Sweet memories indeed! Shortly after came the Prophecy of Ro expansion with new challenges to overcome. In june we finished Prophecy of Ro and got ourself a couple months of relaxation and farming before next expansion beta started in august and eventually went live at the end of september.

Now we are nearing the completion of The Serpents Spine expansion, having cleared all mobs in Ashengate and with all the mobs in first Frostcrypt instance defeated right before our xmas break. I am certain when we return to raiding in january, we will plow through the last Frostcrypt mobs and have Shadeking Beltron lying dead at our feet before long. Just in time it seems, as the next expansion beta is closing in on us already. Time does indeed fly...

Enough of this old dwarf's ramblings. From all of Raging Fury, I wish you all a Merry Xmas and a Happy new year! And to our members in Raging Fury...awesome work this past year. Even when things get tough, you never give up. Enjoy your well deserved quality time with your loved ones. See you all in 2007 to kick even more ass!

03.12.2006 Raging Fury finishes Ashengate! by Dalrek

After carefull planning, analyzing in our tactics forum and even drawing small pictures of every phase to explain how we wanted to do it, the last event in Ashengate is defeated. Lethars final stand proved to be no match for a focused and wellprepared Raging Fury raid

In some ways this event will probably be the real challenge of TSS, atleast in its current state. I would have loved to defeat this encounter earlier, but it is a bit hard to defend spending all your time on a single fight, when you have a whole other zone waiting for you. So this is the major difference from encounters like Overlord Mata Muram and Mayong Mistmoore. Those were the final fights in their expansions and could have our undivided attention.

We never gave up getting it done though and with the right plan having been ready on the board for a while, all we needed was a good raidforce in a killing mood. Seems sunday was the day. After two initial runs ending with repectively 42% and 17%, we were certain we had it under control. As usual when we get our first endboss kills, it started getting late and people had to start thinking about work the next day. Thankfully we had 50 people willing to give it one last shot, despite the fact that most of us have to get up early

We engage...and 20 minutes later we still have 47 people alive in the zone and a dead Lethar at our feet. It was one of those fights where the adrenaline is pumping as you get closer and closer to winning and I must admit I started worrying around 15%. But I can proudly say that this was so well executed that it made me wonder if it really was the same fight and why we hadnt just done it weeks ago. Well done furies on getting us yet another serverfirst and ofcourse keeping us in the top 5 serverwide and last but not least getting this kill done before any patch could possibly change the fight and remove the chance to defeat the version that few had done before us.

If you have worked on this event, you will understand why I was a bit too busy to take some nice pictures this time. I promise I will do better when we go back and kill him again, cause I have no doubt he will be on the normal clearing schedule now

We did not hit the jackpot on breastplate molds, but I think this is acceptable though

With Ashengate finished, we can now focus 100% on Frostcrypt and have started doing so even more than before. If you want the chance of being a part of Raging Fury as we roll through Frostcrypt and Ashengate, we are still open for applications from exceptional players

24.11.2006 Recruitment is open! by Dalrek

Raging Fury is looking for more players to join our ranks. In these poker times, you could say we are pretty much playing with a full deck of cards, all colors represented and we usually have the winning hand when we raid. However, that does not mean we dont have room to add an ace or two! Generally speaking, we are looking for demiplane level geared players, with around 800 AAs and high playtime. Exceptions to gear and AAs can be made and each applicant will be judged on an individual basis, but our guidelines should still give you a rough idea of what we would like.

You must be prepared to spend the needed time on faction work, endure numerous deaths breaking into new content and not get frustrated when the going gets tough. If you believe this profile fits you, please take a closer look at our recruiting section Here! Both native AB players as well as servertransfers are more than welcome to apply. Once you make up your mind, please send us your info either as PM or preferably via e-mail here: Apply! and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Feel free to include any extra info you believe will help your application

Ok, Enough about recruiting for now. Ofcourse I could not make an update without fancy pictures and progression updates! Since our last update, we have finished a round of reflagging for north wing Ashengate and we went back and took out Lethar and Dyn'Leth

We also took a sneak peek into the Frostcrypt progression line. Even though I dont have any pictures of the major encounters on this side of the progression, you can rest assured that there will be tons and tons of dead giants very soon

So what are we working on at the moment? The big final event in Ashengate, Lethar and Selay. While a challenging event, others have killed him. Raging Fury will soon as well.

03.11.2006 Raging Fury takes a big bite of the TSS cake! by Dalrek

Just a brief update today for those who like to browse other guild sites and keep up to date on progess.

I am proud to say that the Raging Fury train has started rolling. With the faction frenzy that came with TSS, we decided to go at our own pace and make sure everyone got flagged and noone felt left behind and do lots of this stuff as raids. It may have taken us a week longer than some, but in the end it will pay off in terms of less burnout I believe. One of the things that separates us from others, is our teamwork and I must say I am proud of how the Raging Fury members have banded together and pulled through this phase that left alot of people very frustrated and worried about being left behind.

So has it paid off? I think it is safe to say it has. We downed Stitch as the first on the server and serverwide second. We downed Sothgar as second on the server a couple days after Tide who in return took down Stitch. Nice going guys. Let us show everyone that AB is the place to be for high end raiding!

This places us amongst the top 5 guilds to have killed both Stitch and Sothgar and gotten access to north wing instance raids. But that was not enough for us. After entering north wing, we decided to give the first event a go after getting pretty much a full raid inside. Fast forward and the army of Dyn'Leth is scattered on the floor all around us in what can only be described as a pretty chaotic fight. Current status for us at the moment is having defeated the first two events in north wing. Way to go Raging Fury!

Even though the second event for some reason left the corpse empty and no chests popping, we have still gotten a few decent loots along the way to where we are, including the first bow I have actually seen a ranger want in years! I leave you with an assorted selection of goodies from the Raging Fury treasure vault:

Good news! Recruiting is open for selected classes that want to be a part of our fantastic guild. I am not in charge of recruiting and Illandra will be able to answer more correctly exactly what we are looking for, but I do believe 1-2 clerics, rogue, shadowknight, monk and a couple more are on the wishlist. So dont hesitate to send a tell to Illandra if interested

19.09.06 Raging mushrooms! by Dalrek

Ahoy landlubbers! Finally the big day has arrived. Wash your eyepatches, grab your cutlass and your favorite bottle of rum, "International Talk like a Pirate Day" is here! Oh, and The Serpents Spine expansion goes live today too.

It's been a while since our last update, but hopefully it will not be quite as long before our next. What have we been doing for the past 3 months since completing PoR you ask? Mainly we have been pillaging and plundering Demi-reef of Blood and Deathknell Island over and over, but once we got the opportunity to try some new scenery, we pulled up the anchor and set sail for TSS beta. I must say I am impressed by the determintation of the Raging Fury crew. Showing up on beta with no promises of sweet treasure day after day, is in my humble opinion what seperates this guild from alot of others. It is the willingness to keep going that has made it possible for us to achieve many a serverfirst in the last expansions. Ofcourse the chance to influence the future means alot and I am happy to inform that we have some important stuff going live with this expansion, which has not been mentioned in todays patch message. First and foremost: New illusions! Also please note the nice feature on beta that allows you to see past peoples normal server titles and showing their true nature, revealing people who love Coco Puffs, Lost Beastlords and even Tonfa Queens

Now we are back and ready to make some mobs walk the plank on good old Antonius Bayle. We have a full bloodthirsty crew ready to unleash hell upon TSS. The next weeks will bring much carnage. Grinding is back, new levels and AAs to be gained, new spells to be obtained, new flagging to be done and then we will emerge victorious as always, giants and dragons alike dead at our feet

Like I said, we have a full and strong crew at the moment. But if you think you have got what it takes, we always have room for a few exceptional players. Exceptional meaning high raidattendance, wellgeared and highly skilled players. As comparison, the average hp in Raging Fury, all classes included, is above 13k, and the average AA count is above 1200. So anguish gear and 500 AA isnt exceptional and wont cut it even if 500 AA is usually enough for some classes. We might consider DP/DK/RZ geared players with MPG trials and DoN AAs done, good 1 group farmable augments and other indications that you are dedicated to the game though. Send a tell to Illandra in game, email her on application@lavanet.no or use our PM function. The perfect time for joining is now before we get too far into flagging for the TSS endzones

As we all know, switching guilds and maybe even server like alot of our members did, is a big step. I can tell you hard facts about our hitpoints and AAs, I can tell you our average age (educated guess late 20s), percentage of males vs females in guild (approximately 25% girls) and how many US vs euro players we have (50ish% scandinavians, 30ish% other euros and around 10% US players), but some things cant really be explained without letting you take a peak into the daily life of Raging Fury. So to show you how nice people we really are, I present to you.....quote-o-rama!

Thats all for this time mateys! We will return soon with some nice screenshots of dead TSS critters.

19.06.06 Prophecy of Ro completed! by Dalrek

While the ongoing World Cup soccer has made us adjust our schedule to ensure good turnout and focus, it hasnt stopped us from kicking ass. The World Champions still remain to be found, but Im proud to announce that the european champions have been found! Once again Raging Fury finishes an expansion among the top 5 serverwide. Although we were not serverwide first this time, I must say I am proud of our performance the last couple weeks.

Even knowing that a "nerf" was incoming on the Enforcer event in Deathknell, we have been throwing ourself at the event in the original state instead of waiting for it to be made easier and I am confident we would soon have joined the few tough ones, Assent and Tide, who beat this event in the old version. Deep respect to our friends in Tide on that acomplishment and I wish we could have proven we could beat the same version before we killed Ayonae Ro.

As usual I will refrain from whining and flaming too much about DK, I believe it to be more contructive to make sure the right changes go into the game as soon as possible. We all agree enforcer event was nerfed too hard. To a guild that has worked hard on beating the old version, the new one is just a tad too easy. We found event #2 to be very enjoyable and probably pretty well-balanced in its current state. About event #3, I can only echo what has been said on other boards. Some say Ayonae Ro is also too easy. I tend to disagree. Atleast it seem you can do it 2 different ways, where one is much easier. We won doing it the hard way, so it seemed like a pretty good fight to me.

It took us several tries over a couple days to get it right and have the right people we needed for it, but the outcome was inevitable. In a race against time before too many logged and with people semi focusing on watching the Spain soccer match (bad boys! bonk!), we decided to give it one last shot before calling it a night. Testing a new tactic, we started the fight and pretty fast you could see that people were actually performing much better than our earlier tries. It felt right. Surely she would die? About 30 mins later the cheering filled guildchat as we put a stopper to the wannabe karaokeesinger that is Ayonae Ro

Not only did we bag us a serverfirst and serverwide 4th kill, we also got 3 brand new loots not seen before (Illandra tried to loot 3 tonfas, but was distracted long enough for us to actually get something good!)

We are looking forward to going back to Deathknell and if you want to join us there, recruiting is currently open. We are looking specifically for the following:

Bard
Monk
Necromancer
Berzerker
Rogue
Druid
Shadowknight

to join our ranks, but even if not one of those classes, we will take into consideration exceptional candidates. People contact Illandra in game or use the contact link here on the website.

01.05.06 Ding dong the Zek is dead! by Dalrek

Here it is as promised: Sullon Zek finally bites the dust after 3 weeks, 16 attempts, and 4 zone crashes, which made us drop Razorthorn for a week. But the encounter got fixed and we reentered Razorthorn determined to test out our new plan which we were confident would work, based on the progress we made before the fight decided to break.

Sunday night it became evident that we had a working strategy and we only needed some minor tuning in terms of execution. So this Monday night, we returned with an even better composed and better prepared raid force than the night before, and it paid off tremendously.

Engaging just after 8:00 pm, we performed a near flawless execution with only 5 or 6 deaths during the following 20-minute brawl. I must say it was a pretty intense, yet a very smooth fight, even though our main tank utilized his Divine Intervention 8 times during the fight, which made me kind of jumpy. (Can’t be helped, he is a lizard.) In the end we came out on top and then went into Austin Powers' secret disco room to celebrate, as you can see below.

So now with Sullon Zek down, the real challenge is ahead of us. Trying to figure out how to actually get into Ayonae Ro's domain; Deathknell, Tower of Dissonance. Of course everyone is eager to see more of what we can expect in the next weeks to come, so we decided to trigger this little expedition to take a look.

And there she was, Ayonae Ro in all her glory. It kind of seems she isn’t doing too well, so we will have to sort things out for her, as we always do.

I can’t say that we learned a lot on this first trip into Deathknell, but stay tuned for some new, updated progress… hopefully.

10.04.06 Raging Fury meets Sullon Zek! by Dalrek

I am a slacker. I admit it. In our last update I promised you some Theater of Blood news soon and now it has been a month. I am sure you have seen plenty of pictures of the theater mobs dead by now, so since we have moved on to other stuff anyway, how about we skip that.

Since the last update, we were lucky and persistant enough to find the infamous Sverag mob up and get our access to Razorthorn, tower of Sullon Zek a couple weeks ago. That spawn has now been fixed so it is actually reasonable it seems, so instead of a pointless rant on that topic, I will save my ammo for later

We have been pretty busy lately. Suchun went from a hard event to being a 15 min event without casualties besides a frog once in a while and Ghost rolled over pretty fast too after a couple test runs. Unfortunately we havent been back to Suchun for a while and Ghost is not a good fight to get pictures in, so you will have to do with these

Moving on from Ghost, we met Snowtail and got stuck there for a while. The silly lockout in the zone was not very helpful. I wonder how long it would have taken for people to kill Overlord Mata Muram if they had gotten lockout for all of Anguish as soon as they killed Keldovan. So we lost a few days waiting for lockouts on something we didnt kill. Eventually Snowtail bit the dust and in a way reminds me of Suchun now. The last 2 kills were done on first try and now you wonder why it took you so long to figure out a working strategy. Too bad when you get 2 necks on Ghost and then kill Snowtail and get the exact same neck from him also. Fortunately the kill wasnt about loot as much as getting to try the next mob in the zone

Which brings us to the real thing..Sullon Zek herself. Again, due to lockout, we are not getting as much time to work on the event as we would like. When you run out of time after killing Ghost, Snowtail and a couple attempts on Sullon, you have to wait 3 days for the dogs to repop and then kill them again to get another chance at Sullon. Clever...

I am sure eventually our hard work will pay off though and we have seen some progress atleast. Give us some time to figure out the mechanics of what looks to be pretty unique fight and I will get a corpse for you as soon as possible.

01.03.06 Prophecy of Ro goes live! by Dalrek

The Prophecy of Ro expansion is upon us and even though we have no news worthy of replacing Mayong, I guess it's only fair to those browsing various guildsites in search of news on the expansion, to offer a bit of help. First off let me apologize for for this update not being up to its usual standards, but our wordwizard and fearless leader Nineveh has decided to dedicate his energy to RL endevours. Either that or Svartrot ate him. In both cases we wish him the best of luck on his future journey and may it be filled with as much excitement for him as he made EQ and Raging Fury for those of us who had the pleasure of having him as leader.

As far as Prophecy of Ro goes, I wont get into the whole risk vs reward thing here. Lets just say dragons aren't what they used to be. We took down Porthio the Secondborn, but unfortunately I dont have any pictures from that fight at all, so instead I will leave you with one of the Eldarr mobs. Nothing interesting from that fight really, neither in terms of difficulty nor rewards, but it adds some color to the frontpage.

Moving on we find the one mob that put up a fight so far, although he still bit the dust after a few runs to figure him out.

This mob actually gave us some nice loots. If I remember right, it sold better than our demiplane raids who tend to have most loot rotting. Somehow I think we will be seeing Daosheen alot more in the future

Although we lost some people to the natural progress of people moving on to RL stuff, we also got some nice new additions to our current team and we are going as strong as ever, determined to put Mayong to rest once again in his new incarnation. So therefore I wont spend too much time on this update, because I got the feeling that it will be updated very soon as we continue to progress through PoR. Expect some Theater of Blood updates in the very near future. We have a very limited number of spots open to certain classes and exceptional players, so if you want to be a part of Raging Fury, this is your chance. Check out our current needs and contact Illandra in-game if interested and qualified

04.01.06 Mayong Mistmoore slain! by Nineveh

Mayong Mistmoore transcended into full divinity tonight as his earthly form was slain in the Demi-Plane of Blood. Many nights have been spent amid Mayong's most trusted council, and despite making continous progress on the event, many of us could not hide our frustration when we wiped with the master of dreadspire at 2% nearing midnight.

Motivation was paragon however, and every single member remained online to make one final attempt, despite the fact that most of them were already dreading the morning thereafter. Euphoria is hardly adequate when attempting to define the seconds following our victory, but considering the effort our guild has put into the latest expansion, I think the feeling was ubiquitous. Never before have I received such a barrage of tells, fairly certain the number exceeded hundreds, most demanding that the aftermath of the encounter was included in the webpage update, namely the lore.

Supposedly the effects of Mayongs elaborate scheme should be evident in every zone of the game, though sadly this aspect of the encounter appeared broken. Action screenshots are all but lacking unfortunately, as I was rather preoccupied during the encounter, hopefully we can ameliorate on this in the future.

19.12.05 The Master of Dreadspire revealed! by Nineveh

A resonant and acoustic chime was heard through the keep of Dreadspire tonight as the unnamed bard finally witnessed a performance that matched his expectations, and post his ballads being recited properly, the forgotten artist could leave the Demi-Plane at peace.

This event requires an immense amount of preparation and coordination, and we have been throwing ourselves relentlessly at it for about a week now, though sadly we still have to restart the expedition each time we wish to attempt the event anew. The latter portion of the encounter is more intense than anything we have ever experienced in the game before, and I would not be surprised if that part is tuned down significantly. Despite the late hour we decided to visit the master who beckoned us for some company, but as of yet we can only provide you with one picture. Rest assured more will follow tomorrow though.

06.12.05 Roley DeFarge slain! by Nineveh

Roley DeFarge was once known as the greatest leader the paladin order of Marr had ever seen, though despite being the recipient of acclaim and flattery, Roley sought to further his name beyond what any mortal could possibly achieve. When failing to return from Dreadspire Keep, a hunting party including his own wife Adrianna found that he had been enslaved by the master residing within, sharing fates with both Tris Wallow and Devlin Rochester. Roley displayed his complete devotion to the undead by slaying his own wife to please his new master.

While Sanguimanus the Redfang offered the greatest challenge of the first tier, Roley DeFarge is without a quiver of doubt the toughest encounter in the second, and should he remain in his present incarnation not many will overcome this ordeal any time soon. Only the performer stands between Raging Fury and the unwreathing of the master, and hopefully we will be able to introduce you all to his eluding presence shortly.

01.12.05 Devlin Rochester slain! by Nineveh

Thousands of years ago, Devlin Rochester set forth to slay the greatest abomination the world had ever seen, namely May.. the master of Dreadspire Keep. His accidental killing of a young woman thought to be a lycanthrope gnawed at him from within, and ridden by guilt he was overwhelmed by the ominous power that resided in the Demi-Plane of Blood, ending up serving the very presence he had come to vanquish.

Despite dazzling us with a vaste array of weapons, the remnants of what was once Devlin was found lacking tonight as his tormented captivity came to an end.

Anthas decided to purchase everything of value, but was graceful enough to thank the guild for aiding him. I was not playing from my regular computer at the time of Devlin's death, thus one could almost believe that it was Zorrbald who had provided the pictorial material, hence the old world models.

22.11.05 Tris Wallow III purged! by Nineveh

The festering lycanthrope that had lingered within Tris Wallow III for close to three thousand years was purged for the first time ever tonight on Antonius Bayle as the second tier of the Demi-Plane of Blood lost its diplomatic tactician. Torn from within by the remnants of what was once a brilliant strategic mind, Tris sought to rid herself of what had sadly dissipated her to a state of insanity.

Tris Wallow was a highly interesting encounter, and much to Imothep's (our local champion of lore) approval the lore leading up to this event played a significant part in overcoming it. The reflagging component of the Demi-Plane was also discovered tonight, and a sigh of relief was heard when we all understood that curse progression flagging is a thing of the past.

Several guilds are currently progressing through the Demi-Plane at a fast rate, racing eachother in an attempt to be the first to finish this particular expansion. Regardless of outcome, this phase of the game is in my opinion the most interesting one, as newly aquired loot is instantly linked on a serverwide basis merely seconds after they appear on lucy. Most servers have their fair share of intrigues between guilds battling for the top spot, but personally we feel that you should relish that competition and embrace it for what it is, namely a catalyst that will motivate your guild beyond their normal boundaries. How you get there is equally important to when you get there.

We are still looking for a few dedicated clerics or dark drachnids to join our guild, if you are either, do not hesitate to contact Illandra in game, or utilize the private message function on our forum. Note that dark drachnids are expected to attend a mezzbreaking course prior to commencing their potential trial.

20.11.05 Sanguimanus the Redfang slain! by Nineveh

For close to a week now, our tactical approach to the Redfang encounter has remained unaltered, though sadly we were not able to field an optimal raidforce until tonight. Sunday seems to be day of reckoning for our guild, our best prior attempt at this particular encounter was, you guessed it, last Sunday, and with every class accounted for, hopes and expectations were both high.

There are still several aspects of this fight that we can improve upon, but an ambiance of euphoria quickly spread through the guild as realisation of victory dawned upon those present tonight. The images of Redfang are all but lacking, so we will also include two random pictures taken during our exploration of the second tier in the Demi-Plane tonight. While none are unique, I for one have always enjoyed seeing pictures of new and unbeaten mobs displayed on the various newspages of diverse Everquest guilds throughout the years.

We are still looking for a few clerics to compliment our healing branch, please review the forum for details, or contact our newly appointed recruitment officer, Illandra, in game.

14.11.05 Recruiting clerics! by Nineveh

Raging Fury is currently looking for a few clerics to join our ranks. The two primary traits we are looking for is high activity and ability. Please review the cleric requirements in our application section on the forum, though note that the alternate advancement listed is merely a preferred amount, not necessarily a mandatory number.

If interested, please contact either Nineveh, Xack, Zorrbald, Thordanis or Svartrot in game, or through the private message function on the forum.

10.11.05 The Wailing sisters banished! by Nineveh

Two thirds of the Wailing Sisters found themselves banished from the Demi-Plane of Blood tonight as intrigues and conspiracy on a level that even surpasses the average female cleric one(!) was revealed amid the bridesmaids of Tserrina. There is no description that properly describes this event, but it was definitely different from any encounter we have experienced as of yet, interesting enough to keep 50 players online past midnight, something that rarely occurs in Raging Fury. Redfang is all that locks the Demi-Plane to its current phase in time and hopefully his imminent demise will shift the reality of the projected plane enough to reveal the second tier shortly.

When undergoing the learning process of new encounters, it is always interesting to see what potential aid you might get from your fellow guildmembers, in this case however, they were not exactly helpful.

06.11.05 Hatchet the Torturer slain! by Nineveh

Unlike his esthetic equivalents in Anguish, Hatchet used every pound to his advantage and through mere girthsize repeatedly plowed through a blithely unaware raidforce within his chambers of torture in the Demi-Plane of blood. This encounter is without a quiver of doubt the most entertaining fight we have seen for a long long time, and while the majority of Demi-Plane still remains wreathed, I feel safe in proclaiming that this is so far the best encounter in the Depths of Darkhollow expansion.

That is where the praise ends however, one should always give praise when it is due, as should one always relay the reciprocal when needed. For more than a month now, the Demi-Plane of blood has remained the most poorly designed, and the least thought through zone in the game, ranging from named encounters that render themselves totally unfunctional, to mob respawns that literally makes it all but impossible to get from one location to the next within the zone without utilizing a magician corpse, a few necromancers for ressurrection purposes and obviously a willing batch of knights to lead the way.

This method of skipping content has up until the end of last week been the primary method of transportation utilized by 100% of the guilds that are currently progressing through the end game content of Everquest. Serverwide chat channels have made it a simplicity to communicate with other guilds experiencing exactly the same thing as we did over the last couple of weeks. Raiding in the Demi-Plane was not even remotely resemblant of anything one might regard as fun. Imagine having to wait for close to two hours while a fraction of your guild is involved in the process of moving a corpse from one location to the next. Based on the conversations I had with several high end guildleaders during the October month, their conclution was all but unanimous; if left in its current state, the Demi-Plane might very well cause an exodus reminiscent of the one we all bore witness to during the Gates of Discord. Regardless of what potential progression you might make within in a zone, it is hardly worth the effort if you are not even enjoying it.

There are always exceptions however, a minority of people were actually advocating that the zone should be made more difficult, as the current level of challenge was barely sufficient to satiate their need for adequate challenges. I have personally not seen any definitions of the epitome/paragon of hypocracy, but that statement comes extremely close if nothing else does. The same minority that refuted any change to the zone as it was not challenging enough as it was, backed their comments up by killing Zi-Thuuli inside the Dreadspire castle, as the encounter in its original state proved to be too tough to handle. Admittedly one might say that rendering the one challenge of this fight obsolete is merely thinking outside the box, but when you have to skip 100% of the trash spawns in a zone merely to reach a named encounter, I would hardly feel justified in proclaiming that something is too easy, atleast not until you've actually managed to handle something the way it was intended.

As mentioned earlier, the Demi-Plane of blood was seriously altered last week, including longer respawn times, lowering of assist range for certain inhabitants and several other minor changes that combined severely heighten the enjoyment of the zone. Clearing trash is still somewhat of a challenge, but at the moment is is possible to complete, within acceptable time limits. When altering content to such an extent as was the case last thursday, it would only be common courtesy to announce the alterations, had this been procrastinated much longer, I am pretty certain that the aftermath of such a delay would be highly noticable.

Two things that would help enforce the intentions behind the modifications to the zone would be to make it impossible to remove the zonewide area effect, and to disable the call of the hero spell within the Demi-Plane. Truth be told, being able to skip content in a zone through using a buff-stacking issue to remove an area effect; thus being able to make corpse runs that otherwise would be impossible while being snared is not original, it is unintentional.

Progression wise, Everquest seems to have entered a cold war era, new mobs are being killed but those killing them does not deem it important enough to update their newspages. As far as we are concerned though, a news posting is to announce a milestone your guild has overcome, nothing more.

24.10.05 Zi-Thuuli of the Granite Claw slain by Nineveh

We are currently looking for an additional 4-5 members to fill our ranks, check the recruitment section for further details, Magicians do not hesitate to apply!

On the drawing board, Zi-Thuuli must have seemed like a highly original event, the live version is sadly a total reciprocal. Having a named mob spawn randomly from clearing trash mobs is nothing novel, albeit having the boss encounter literally spawn amid the raidforce was somewhat of a surprise the first time it occurred, and it is definitely one of the most efficient methods of ascertaining that the raidforce stays totally focused for the duration of the clearing.

However, forcing a guild to constantly clear respawns in an instanced zone in hopes of spawning their desired target is all but extremely disconsolate. Our endeavour tonight lasted for aproximately two hours, where 75% of that time was monotone, repetitive clearing of respawns. When Zi-Thuuli finally decided to make an appearance, he reassured us of the fact that the next time he graced us with his fleeing presence, would thankfully be the last. Gargoyles are known to be deceptive however, and surprisingly enough, a fourth meeting was deemed a necessity.

I am fairly certain that the original intent of this encounter was that any guild facing Zi-Thuuli should be forced to fight him at their present location, which is why it seems rather redundant to add an ability to that mob which renders any fight spot bar one or two all but useless.

While players have demanded challenging and enjoyable content for some time now, encounters that take close to two hours to complete combined with the risk of raidmembers being tossed down into Stoneroot Mountains amid kill on sight mobs is hardly the type of challenge that makes this game enjoyable. The fleeing aspect of this encounter is pretty pointless, the novelty wears off after having completed it once, post that it merely becomes an annoyance.

Hopefully, what is left of the Demi-Plane will be somewhat more enjoyable, what we have seen so far is pretty disappointing.

Following the trend of our nostalgy video releases, this update will feature our very first video ever made, namely a compilation from a Tacvi clearing in mid April or May if I recall correctly. You can download the video by clicking here

02.10.05 Master Vule The silent Tear slain! by Nineveh

Master Vule the Silent Tear was slain tonight in what can only be described as the epitome of execution. The vampiric guardian of the Demi-Plane offered little to no resistance to an amply prepared raidforce, and through Vule's eyes Raging Fury obtained access to the equivalent of Tacvi, Anguish and the Plane of Time, namely the final raiding zone of the Depths of Darkhollow expansion.

Flitzer was chosen for the mandatory scouting of our new raiding territory and managed to secure the following screenshots prior to calling it a night. While the majority of the latest expansion has offered new models and unique encounters I must utter my disappointment in regards to seeing the exact same model that was utilized in the endgame stage of the Omens of War expansion grace the final raiding frontier in the Darkhollow expansion.

Some of us are still hoping to see Mayong Mistmoore step forth to announce himself as the true master of Dreadspire Keep, and truth be told, seeing a 400 ton Warcraft tauren copy amid vampiric nobility is all but appalling.

Completing an encounter more than once has a tendency to render it somewhat trivial, thus I am able to offer you proper coverage of the Hive Queen Event, which is without a doubt one of the most enjoyable encounters in Everquest at this time. Stay tuned for further updates from the Demi Plane.

A few months back we thought it would be an idea to make some movies that covered the encounters we were currently doing. Unfortunately, so did most of the other guilds out there, thus we decided to withhold our videos until they had ripened properly, in other words, until they had become vintage. Our two first videos document an Anguish round and a fight against Vishimtar. My trial version of SwishMAX sadly expired, otherwise I would have fixed the Anguish clearing time to 2 hours and 29 minutes, a time we have yet to beat. Download the videos here:

23.09.05 Welcome to Dreadspire! by Nineveh

Sendaii the Hive Queen is dead and the path to Dreadspire has been revealed, although the two events are not necessarily related.

18.09.05 Emperor Draygun, Council of Nine, Bloodeye and Matriarch Shyra slain! by Nineveh

We are currently progressing through the initial parts of the Depths of Darkhollow storyline, and while none of the encounters mentioned here have been much of a challenge, relieving Vishimtar and Overlord Mata Muram of their 5 month reign of our newspage was way overdue.

Admittedly the launch of DoD transpired sans too much adversity, albeit when encounters yield 54 day lockout timers instead of 4, this is definitely something that requires immediate attention. Also please make sure that those unlucky enough to be zoning from an untimely death as their guild completes an encounter actually receives the reward for the raid in question. Unfortunately I was not able to attend the Emperor Draygun and Council of Nine raids, thus the pictorial coverage is somewhat limited. Further updates to follow.

17.06.05 New frontpage by Nineveh

Post years of unchallenged reign, the newspage of Raging Fury was finally slain today, replaced with a graphical innovation that in my opinion is a vaste improvement of our informational relay channel to the Everquest Community.

Kenneth Weide, more commonly known as Knekker the rogue on Antonius Bayle, graciously offered us his talents when learing that we wished to enhance our webpage. On several occasions in the past, the guild has utilized Knekker's services, primarily through the signature picture that has become a tradmark of both his artistic abilities, and distinct method of approach. Personally I must admit to being somewhat surprised at the temperance displayed by the artist upon learning that the design needed minor alterations for the sixth or seventh time, though I think I can safely speak for every party involved when I say that the end result is an epitome of our expectations.

There will come a time when Knekkers work will reap great renown, and without doubt he will shortly host an online gallery for more extensive display of his work, but until such a time arrives, you can view his prior projects on our forum through clicking here. On behalf of the entire guild, thank you kindly Knekker!

Despite installing a php based news updating system allowing for other members to update once in a while, there seems to be an eerie feel of reluctance towards accepting remotely connected to public display. Thus the readers will have to endure my rants for the time being. The two images included above were chosen merely as they are the main protagonists of our weekly raiding agenda, and to prevent the first update on the new page to consist solely of text. As insignificant as it might seem, the return of the Circle of Drakes event was highly appreciated, and added a tinge of something new to an all but redundant schedule. The announcement of the new expansion arrived not a minute too late, and as always before, new content lures the community into a state of eager acceptance, brooding silently whilst awaiting different challenges.

A few updates back we blantantly disclosed the fact that one of our most active wizards, Skyllah, still adorns herself with elemental clothing. Apparantly she is not alone when indulging in such planar remnants, through mail, I received information that amongst the wizards of Heaven & Earth, there resides a player by the name of Kilzadi who oddly enough also wears the cloak of combustion! Pure happenstance? Or does this cloak possess something exquisite and unique? Please feel free to attend Skyllah's historical lecture on planar armour in the Plane of Knowledge this Saturday at 16.00 near the Priest of Discord.

26.05.05 - Vishimtar the fallen slain anew! by Nineveh

Two words more than adequately sum up the new Vishimtar event, chain reaction, and despite the fact that I feel those words alone would suffice for an update, one has to give the developers credit for the way they have ameliorated this event. Every individual, regardless of class, play a vital role during the encounter, and should one of them falter slightly, the path downhill is relentless. We can only hope that the upcoming expansion will offer events similar to this one, it was highly enjoyable.

Recruitment wise we are currently looking for a shaman or two, apart from meeting our basic aa requirements all we deem a necessity is that you actually show up for raids. Our narrowing wizard branch would also benefit from an addition or two, please inquire from either Rahvin or Lilchantress ingame if Raging Fury seems an interesting choice. All we demand from potential future wizard members is that their back item surpasses Skyllah's cloak of combustion. Opening the quote session is Faernx suggesting a new logo for the guild.

28.04.05 Overlord Mata Muram slain! by Nineveh

Overlord Mata Muram fell for the first time on Antonius Bayle tonight, and with his dying wail, the entire continent of Kuua trembled visibly, from Dranik’s scar to Riftseekers. Those that have already beaten this mob have more than adequately covered the basics of the fight itself, though personally I will not praise any encounter that ultimately bases the outcome somewhat on mere luck. Certain occurrences throughout the endeavour, based solely on luck of the draw, will render a wipe all but inevitable.

Amongst the favourite excuses used during this encounter were; “I clicked the mask, really, I did!”, “I panicked and could not find my dodge button, but atleast I landed a heal instead!” and last but not least, the overall winner; “I was browsing for a cloak upgrade on lucy and missed it”. One can only begin to guess who the latter excuse belongs to.

Having completed the Omens of War expansion, there are currently no encounters left unbeaten by Raging Fury, though I am certain we all eagerly await the new and improved Vishimtar event. Speaking of patched events, Antonius Bayle has once again been left behind in comparison to the other servers. Sometime during March, the Eye of Vishimtar was added to the final encounter in the Dragons of Norrath expansion, on all servers, excepting Antonius Bayle. I might be mistaken when it comes to the actual numbers, though I remember seeing a developer mentioning the fact that since the patch, Vishimtar had merely died about 20 times on all the servers. How many of these deaths originated on Antonius Bayle? Eight.

Both Darkwind and Raging Fury killed Vishimtar four times each during this period, but the Eye of Vishimtar was never implemented on this server, in other words, we were forgotten anew, highly reminiscent of when Arch Magus Vangl was left unaltered for weeks post being fixed on the American servers. It is pretty disconsolate to witness the lack of attention towards our server time and time again, if nothing else, utilize post-it notes to remind yourselves of the fact that you are actually hosting a European server. One that actually requires your attention every once in a while.

Secondly, but equally important. While I remain uncertain of how this situation is on the other servers out there, Antonius Bayle has had a dramatic increase in regards to the usage of illegal aids. Post the merger with Kane Bayle a few months back, there have been countless incidents involving people warping back and forth throughout various zones, relocating themselves to a safe spot within the zone to heal prior to warping back in and engaging the mob. No drop items are being traded with equal ease thanks to recently added plug ins to Macroquest, these might have existed for some time also, though personally I had never even heard of such until it started infesting the server.

What used to define your character, i.e. your equipment, is now available to anyone that is willing to pay the price for it, whether it be rotting items from within Anguish, or outdated Tacvi gear from someone having moved on to better standards.

Other online role playing games have suffered a similar faith, leaving behind a player base consisting of solely cheaters. Do you seriously intend to watch your own product be reduced to such a state while doing nothing? The monthly fees you might salvage through not banning these individuals might seem alluring for now, but rest assured that if the cheating progresses in the same pace it has now, the gaming experience will be all but ruined for most that still enjoy spending time in the world of Norrath.

Condoning the sale of droppable items and characters is one thing, I will not indulge myself in a rant concerning that issue, but these extremes that have been mentioned here needs to be addressed, immediately. It might not be possible to prevent the usage of it 100%, we are all aware of that, but through making a few examples, I am certain the usage will be highly limited. It is sad to behold unnamed players zoning into the Walls of Slaughter, warping to the zone in area of Anguish, and blatantly displaying their ability to do so, confident in knowing that as of yet, those responsible have not deemed this important enough to even remotely look into.

All said and done, we still enjoy the game, and thrive in overcoming the challenges it has to offer, but if your vision of keeping Everquest running for another 6 years bears any semblance to truth, action is needed, and it is needed yesterday.

Lastly, onwards to somewhat more jovial aspects. As many might have read, we recently lost our old message board + point database as those hosting it decided to display their authority in a childish manner. Merely a week later, a new message board and point database has been established, and as such I would like to utter a few words of gratitude to the people that dedicated their time and effort into restoring these vital functions of any raiding guild sans delay. First and foremost, Rigwit, who was responsible for tweaking the forum into a semblance of our old one, utilizing the already existing colour scheme and board functions, definitely easing the transition for many of us.

Deillusional from Shadows of Doom greatly aided us in regards to implementing a customized item database in the eqdkp system, one that surpasses anything we have ever used in this guild before. On behalf of the guild, thank you kindly.

While displaying such a vast array of gratitude, two people that should have received thorough thanks as last year drew to an end were unfortunately ignored. Anthas and Uren literally led the guild in solitude through one of its toughest periods, having recently lost close to 60% of our older members due to various reasons. If not for the unprecedented display of devotion from these two members, our guild would be nowhere near its current level of progression. Thank you both.

26.04.05 Forums and rfp database deleted - written by Nineveh

As many of you might have noticed, our message board no longer exists. Our point system database along with our message boards were both hosted at a former guildmembers work location. While we still remain uncertain as to why this tantrum was thrown, rest assured that we will have a new message board + point system up and running shortly. Thankfully, alot of our newer recruits have IT backgrounds, and as such, I am actually glad we will finally get this over and done with, this has been a "threat" hanging over those of us that still play for far too long. Personally I never expected the people involved to go this far, but times of adversity display the true color of people I guess. Either way, this newspage will be the primary source of information for the next week or two. And lastly, for the worried members, I managed to copy the current point standings prior to the database dissipating, so worry not.

30.03.05 Minor update- written by Nineveh

No particular reason for this update really, I for one got fairly fed up with watching the same old Vishimtar picture each time I loaded the page. Speaking of Vishimtar, we are still doing our upmost to kill him in a position that might actually resemble a decent corpseshot, though as of yet, such an oppertunity has all but eluded us.

Content wise, and I believe I am speaking for practically every high end guild out there, the weekly agenda is quickly becoming pretty repetitive, more precisely a Tacvi Clearing, Anguish clearing, selected dragons within the new expansion (read:two), and potentially an occasional MPG trial should the nostalgy arise. Add a day or two of working on the Overlord Mata Muram encounter, and you have the raiding schedule for the next few months laid out pretty plainly. Further content is sorely needed, and should this fail to be addressed within a reasonable amount of time, further server mergers will most definitely be required, i.e announce more raiding content!

Everquest recently celebrated its six year anniversary, and with it, by popular demand, Fabled mobs were introduced anew, this time in the Kunark expansion zones. Familiar faces such as Venril Sathir, Gorenaire, Talendor and Trakanon were all somewhat buffed up and made for an entertaining reunion, and as the search for presentable Vishimtar picture is still undergoing, the fabled celebrants will have to do for eyecandy.

07.03.05 Vishimtar the fallen slain - written by Nineveh

A decaying dragon withered to the unrecognizable by the corruption festering beneath the mountains awaited a wary raidforce amid the eerie setting of the nest. Summoning an array of undead servants to his aid, Vishimtar sought to spread the taint that seemingly had consumed the once lithe dragon, to no avail.

This encounter is possibly the most captivating challenge of DoN to date, not necessarily due to the difficulty involved, the dragon himself is quite easily bested once the correct strategy is applied, though the involvement of every member present definitely makes this fight one to remember.

Unlike the Mata Muram encounter, one slight neglect will not render the fight all but impossible, but merely prolong an already lengthy fight. As of yet we have not been able to allocate further content in the DoN expansion, and while the newest addition to Everquest has of yet been all but euphoria, one can only hope that further raiding content will be revealed. If not, completing an expansion in less than three weeks will surely be somewhat frowned upon, time will tell. Extremely poor screenshots this time around, one could almost think they were supplied by Finnemann!

27.02.05 Yar'Lir slain, the nest opened - written by Nineveh

Still mostly praise to the Dragons of Norrath expansion, albeit the lockout timers are somewhat excessive. Having to wait for nearly four days prior to repeating a 24 player event is all but disconsolate. Having said that, most of the encounters we've attempted so far are highly enjoyable, most definitely the Guardian of the Sands event, which proves the programmers have taken an innovative path in regards to expedition design and strategy.

Upon reaching Yar'Lir we discovered an apparent vanity issue, the dragon having indulged himself with several titles, most pertaining to weather related elements, though we will merely refer to him as Yar'Lir. Knowing that defeating this event would set in motion a one time dynamic event opening up the nest for our server, we all agreed that our weekly Anguish farm could easily be postponed to permanently alter the state of Antonius Bayle.

Through unlocking The Nest, we obtained access to the following monstrosity, it seems the Yar'Lir model is a popular choice for high end DoN mob design. Traits found amid the earlier Gates of Discord encounters were recognized upon playing around with the event somewhat, and hopefully we will return soon to engage the guardian of the dragon spawning grounds.

European servers have long been neglected in comparison to the American ones. I could mention GM events being arranged at 4 am, patches ending at midnight, pretty much rendering the entire day worthless for raiding. These are things we have long since learned to accept, our server being the oddity amongst the pack, located on a foreign continent. However, leaving the Arch Magus Vangl event broken on Antonius Bayle only is hardly a minor issue, it is pretty unbelievable considering the fact that we have two high end guilds located here, both deeply involved their learning process against Mata Muram. Having spoken to several raidleaders serverwide, they've all confirmed the encounter is working perfectly. Set aside five minutes of your precious time to patch the Anguish zone on the server that most likely utilizes it the most...I usually refrain from ranting about such issues, but this has been postponed for way too long now.

22.02.05 Tirranun & Rikkukin slain - written by Nineveh

Prior to the Dragons of Norrath release, the general opinion was that the content of the new expansion would merely be an extention of the adventures found in the Lost Dungeons of Norrath, initially festering a hesitation amongst the players when deciding whether or not they would actually purchase the expansion.

While the mission system is highly reminiscent of the adventures found in the predecessing expansion, the DoN counterpart offers a very innovative and compelling progression quest, adding a sorely missed aspect to the game, namely an active player base outside of the normal raiding hours. The lack of new alternate advanced was somewhat frowned upon by many already at the peak of personal improvement, though the quest mentioned earlier has proven itself to yield quite significant rewards, a definite aid to any raiding guild.

Raidwise we have attempted two of the five dragons residing in the newly discovered lands beneath Lavastorm Mountains, more precisely Tirranun and Rikkukin. The latter supposedly offered quite an amusing encounter, though sadly I was not able to participate in the fight. Off the bat, Dragons of Norrath appears to be an entertaining addition to the Everquest saga, dissipating the faineant periods between actual raiding content, while having upgrades that will sough after by high end as well as low end players.

And to potential developers browsing this page; FIX THE AM ENCOUNTER IN ANGUISH !

Concluding this update, one of the most inappropriate zone crashes we have experienced of late, though as someone was kind enough to remind me of, it could have been much much worse, i.e during Jelvan. The actual crashing process did not occurr until Warden Hanvar's hitpoints moved from 1% to 0%, in other words, perfectly timed.

16.02.05 Recruiting Clerics and Enchanters! - written by Nineveh

As the topic indicates, we are currently seeking active CLERICS and ENCHANTERS to bolster our ranks. Cross server applicants are encouraged to apply, the two traits we hold in high regard are activity + ability. Id est, high playing times, and preferrably a certain amount of alternate advancement. For further information about the application process, please review our recruitment section on the forums or contact any officer in game (Anthas, Frolaak, Uren,Xack,Karde,Nineveh).

Onwards to more jovial aspects. Our enchanters are known serverwide for their unmatched logic and strategic dispositions, the first quote displayed below is an archived uttering from our suisse tactician, while the second quote was a recent occurrence, clearly following the trend.

Have you ever experienced an applicant constantly making up excuses for not attending raids? Most guilds probably have, though I think it fairly safe to assume that none bares even the slightest resemblance towards what you are about to witness below. Without further ado, Raging Fury proudly presents, Ravjack!

-Ravjack tells the raid, 'sorry about that 3min afk. daughter was choking in her sleep. silly cow decided to chew her teddy bear'

-Ravjack tells the raid, 'guys i ned to camp, electric cut out and im on battery charger atm. will be back when it comes back up.

-Ravjack tells the guild, 'still time to make Qvic? sorry i tried at 7pm to log on and it wouldnt let me so went to the pub for a drink =)'

-Ravjack tells the guild, 'this is ravjacks better half .. hes had to go out on an emergency, im gating him out just in case ..... he will be on later'

-Ravjack tells the guild, 'fookin poodle pulled my monitor power out'

-Ravjack tells you, 'i know your not gonna be happy but im gonna have to go now, baby milk was left in granada and daughter needs a feed in 2hrs so i have to go next town down to buy milk. sorry ill cya laters'

-Ravjack tells you, 'sorry about friday had a phone call from friend who broke down outside valencia city. had to go pick his family up and take em home'

-Ravjack tells the guild, 'sorry about that guys. i went ld with /rewind command then i couldnt get in with login being down

06.02.05 Tunat'Muram Cuu Vuaux slain - written by Nineveh

In what can only be described as a way overdue kill, Tunat'Muram was defeated tonight, marking the completion of the Gates of Discord expansion, aproximately one year after its official release. Raging Fury practically spent weeks within this zone during the prime of a now obsolete expansion, but progression was thoroughly halted by Pixtt Kretv Kraxt, a fate shared by many a guild serverwide. Rumours of our upcoming victory actually caused a few dormant members of the guild to make an appearance, making tonights raid even more enjoyable.

Truth be told, this encounter was far from as difficult as one might expect, though it definitely followed the trend of the other encounters found within the zone, offering a much needed respite from the weekly Anguish routine.

30.01.05 Arch Magus Vangl slain - written by Nineveh

Arch Magus Vangl proved himself to be quite the adversary, especially faced against a raidforce in deep contemplation of what unheard of strategy to apply against this particular encounter. Several intricate battleplans were made, and all found unworthy. During our last attempt of the evening, as our initial plan was on the brink of failure once again, a rather blunt statement was uttered in our raidchannels; Merely zerg the lummox...

Somewhat baffled that our medieval approach of brute force was the key to winning, potential corpseshots all but eluded me, and hopefully the screenshots of Mata Muram will suffice for now, despite their limited quality. As the first quote below will clearly outline, we were somewhat uncertain whether or not the nemesis of Anguish himself was initially aggro, or triggered through a brief display of exquisite lore, thus we sent our blithely unaware monk Karde in to investigate with the clear instruction of merely checking if the mob was indeed triggered.

After receiving our general go ahead, Karde immersed himself in the lure of Mata Muram, and seconds after asking "What worlds" a totally unaware raidforce found themselves quite dead. Several petitions were made that night though, and hopefully Karde will adorn himself with a new title within the week; Karde the Illiterate

27.01.05 Tormentor event (Jelvan) completed - written by Nineveh

Countless hours has of late been spent amid the remnants of Jelvan's nightmare in the lower depths of Anguish. Haunted sans comparison by the three ellusive Tormentors, we have been throwing ourselves repeatedly at a seemingly relentless foe, though post one of our later attempts, we discerned one of the vital aspects that eventually yielded the key to solving this event.

I've read numerous places that this event is one of the hardest designed to date in Everquest, and while I fully agree with that assessment, I must voice my disapproval towards any encounter that deems 20% of the expedition to be inhabited by clerics a necessity. That being said, the Jelvan encounter offered us an andrenaline rush that has long been absent in an Omens raid endeavour. If nothing else, conquering the tormentors is the ultimate test of teamwork and coordination, a test any guild would be proud to complete.

Our recent progression was somewhat halted by a lack of key classes for events such a Jelvan, though with a recent influx of new trialists, we are ready to continue where we left off prior to the last year coming to an end. A formal greeting was obviously arranged with Arch Magus Vangl, ending at 65%, though I will not promise any corpse shot here tomorrow, only time will tell. In case you wonder where all our globes of discordant energy are ending up, the second picture below should suffice for explanations!

Merely one quote this time, though the content alone is disturbing enough to justify the limited amount. For explanations feel free to inquire from Finnemann ingame.

17.01.05 Corpseshot galore! - written by Nineveh

Alot of people have complained about the lack of corpseshots displayed on the page of late. Personally I thought an action picture spoke volumes well beyond a corpse stained across the zone interior, though upon receiving a few comments, in addition to reading the latest news posting on Darkwind's frontpage, I decided to explore the possibility of directly influencing the position of the Anguish nameds once merely a few percentage of their lifebar remained. Much to Uren's disdain I might add, how could one even consider to let an AE rampage mob roam blithely through our raidforce!

Despite initial worries, the results were not half bad, bar Ture who seemingly managed to force himself into a nearby wall after having been stalked in open territory for quite some time. We are still working hard on aiding Jelvan, and I fear having to write another news posting within the week. That being said, we are still looking for a few dedicated clerics to join our ranks, high playtime and alternate advancement are both traits held in high regard, the rest we can easily provide.

10.01.05 Recruiting clerics! - written by Nineveh

We are currently looking for a few clerics to join our healing branch. Healing is an essential part of every raid encounter, and to progress accordingly, our numbers need to increase somewhat.

Progression wise we have recently added Keldovan the Harrier to our weekly routine, joining Warden Hanvar and warm up bait Ture. Requirements are 200+ aa and 5+ days playtime a week. Interested candidates are requested to query Anthas, Karde, Nineveh or Uren in game for further details. Crosserver applicants are encouraged to apply, though obviously we will accept local miracle workers as well :)

Send your application to: application@lavanet.no

03.01.05 Warden Hanvar slain! - written by Nineveh

Twice before in the history of Everquest has the guild stood against an encounter as disconsolate as Warden Hanvar within the Citadel of Anguish, its predecessors being the Rathe Council amid the height of the Planes of Power, followed by a more familiar Zun'Muram Tkarish Zyk. All of the endeavours mentioned above had the distinct ability to totally halt progression for quite a significant amount of time, albeit one factor set Warden Hanvar apart, namely the recent exodus from the game caused by the allure of newer "improved" games.

Like many a guild serverwide we lost a fair amount of our regular playing base, rendering the Warden encounter not doable, considering a peak attendance of mid thirties. Recruiting was obviously intensified, primarily consisting of players applying from outside the boarders of Antonius Bayle, and merely a few weeks after, our numbers stabilized anew.

Having worked on this encounter for close to two months, most of us will likely suffer more than a fair share of grey hairs now knowing that our initial tactics were actually dead on, though limited numbers mixed with poor execution deemed our attempts unworthy of success.

As the pictures will hopefully indicate ( sorry Finnemann! ) I was not present during the encounter, though Finnemann managed to secure the following gem from Faiar:

21.11.04 Final phase of recruiting - written by Nineveh

Our numbers have stabilized somewhat of late, and currently we are merely looking to fill the final positions needed in our guild. The following classes are of particular interest:

- warriors
- druids
- enchanters
- shamen

Obviously exceptional players that do not match the classes mentioned about may still apply. If you wish to be a part of the most challenging encounters Everquest currently has to offer, apply today, contact Karde, Nineveh or Timmok in game.

We've actually been rather busy the last week, slaying Anguish nameds, completing all Muramite proving ground trials, and quite regally liberating Riftseekers of their torn political intrigues. Celsius and Lithorien will have the honor of displaying their newly aquired epics for the visal part of this update however, as all of the encounters mentioned above can be found further down on this page, or within the archived news.

09.11.04 Let us add an innate fd ability to all GoD / OoW mobs, and name the effect: Greeting of Taelosian Discord! - written by Nineveh

Following the complaints of the difficulty, or lack thereof, that met the raiding playerbase once obtaining access to the Citadel of Anguish was eptly dealth with in last weeks patch. Although I much agreed with several others that have voiced their opinion on various forums and news pages, I must say that I am somewhat disappointed in regard to the method of increasing the difficulty on certain mobs.

An example that immediately springs to mind is Ture. Having reached what is currently the final frontier of high end raiding encounters in Everquest, I would expect each mob not only to have a unique looking model, but also to have an ae ability shared by no other mob in the game. Not necessarily an unbalanced effect that would slaughter a guild in seconds, but an effect actually named after the encounter in question. Half of our enchanter team ran around desperately searching for a chaosslayer to charm once noting the Wanton Destruction spell cast on them, though surprisingly enough, none could be found.

We have, similar to many other guilds I am sure, experienced somewhat of a drop in numbers of late, nothing dramatic, though at times we lack the needed 5-6 people to fill up the instanced expeditions nicely. As a result, we are opening recruitment for all classes the next two weeks, wanting to fill these spots with dedicated players willing to surpass the allure of other games currently being released. Read our recruitment forum, and apply either through e-mails, or ingame contact with Nineveh / Karde.

04.11.04 Recruiting Warriors - written by Nineveh

Nothing noteworthy to report progression wise of late, though we have surprisingly enough been rather busy with reflagging necessities for Anguish. Sony was applauded for their initiative with adding keys to the named loot table within the final tier zone in Anguish, though one thing they neglected to ascertain, was that they actually worked as intented. Currently these keys do not function at all, and merely take up inventory space, though upon contacting those responsible, we were assured this was an issue that would be corrected in the upcoming patch.

Onwards to the recruiting though. We are currently seeking 1-2 warriors to join our ranks. A certain equipment standard is expected, in addition to 300+ aa points. Having completed the individual key part for Anguish is definitely a bonus, though far from a pre requisite. GoD and Pop flags are of little interest, as we close to never venture into old content any more, apart from a nostalgic visit to Tacvi once in a while.

No update is complete without a certain visual aspect, and lacking other material, three of our most recent epic completions will have to suffice. Warriors interested in applying for a trial, feel free to contact Nineveh or Karde in game, though those of you that decide to contact Karde, expect atleast 10-15 minutes wait, as our monk recruiter sporadically decides to leave his computer.

25.10.04 Ture slain - written by Nineveh

Our second trip to Anguish proved to be a prosperous one, the citadel having recently been subject to an itemization post a corrupt database, initially yielding merely rubies in place of the augments listed below. However the pathing was most definitely overlooked as many a lightning warrior projected itself randomly across the zone, admittedly aiding us rather significantly in regards to pulling, though still an issue that could easily have been corrected in todays patch. Chimeras appear to be a trendy addition to Omens of War, and in a fight highly reminiscent of Chailak, Ture fell tonight in what can only be described as a surprisingly easy encounter.

During the weekend we paid the royalty of Riftseekers a visit, and nothing but regicide aptly describes the aftermath of our visit there. One has to wonder whether or not Sony Online Entertainment has drawn inspiration from the Riftwar saga when creating this zone, none the less, both the royal blood lines were relentlessly left heirless.

22.10.04 Keldovan the Harrier slain - written by Nineveh

Tedious only begins to describe the process of obtaining individual access to Anguish for most of our members. Despite this disconsolate factor, we managed to produce a raidforce consisting of 40 Raging Fury members, and ventured into the Sea of Anguish for the first time friday evening. Not really knowing what to expect from the final tier in the Omens of War expansion, our goal was merely exploring the initial part of the zone, though after encountering our first named nemesis, we deemed this mob quite possible to best with our numbers, the result, a serverfirst slaying of Keldovan the Harrier.

18.10.04 Welcome to the Citadel of Anguish - written by Nineveh

After many a tiresome night in the trial chambers of the Muramite proving grounds, the Mastery of Mind was finally defeated tonight. Countless attempts have been made at this all but arduous event, and more than one tactician found themselves on the brink of frustration post a thorough ravaging from the ever present feran inhabitants. Another serverfirst, though marginal, secured by the guild, and through Zwickel I was able to venture somewhat into the depths of Anguish, merely to provide a more enjoyable graphical aspect. Hopefully there will be news of interest to report from the end zone of Omens shortly.

11.10.04 Pixxt Kretv Krakxt, the phonetical impossibility slain - written by Nineveh

Warden of the north, Pixxt Kretv Krakxt was defeated tonight in what I believe to be a serverwide second kill. "The insano snake" as we have taken to calling this mob is obviously tuned for a level 70 raidforce, which is primarily the reason for its limited amount of demises. With the availability of new more rewarding content in the form of Omens of War, Tacvi is far from a priority to most guilds currently, though those of us that have endured Tacvi for several months insisted on revisiting the end zone of GoD once the guild in general had peaked in levels.

Nothing but anticlimatic ambly describes the aftermath however. The first Zun clone of the north died within a minute, and would most likely have been found lacking matched against an Aneuk from Txevu. The second Zun of Tacvi's northern hemisphere however proved to offer quite a few surprising elements, and due to the late hour, merely one attempt was made at the final guardian of Tunat. Nevertheless, Tacvi is on the agenda anew tomorrow, and hopefully, there will be atleast one new serverfirst to report.

07.10.04 Five down, one to go - written by Nineveh

Far from a dearth of updates lately, and successfully completing the trial of endurance most definitely requires yet another news posting. The guild was left laving after having wavered somewhat in the resolve needed to overcome this trial, though after compiling what we learned in our prior attempts, our tactic was executed sans flaw and yielded our fifth trial rune, eagerly awaiting the Mastery of Mind. The latter appears to be the obvious bottleneck, though we have made some interesting discoveries there as well, stay tuned for further progression updates.

04.10.04 Three new epics completed - written by Nineveh

Nothing noteworthy to report progression wise, though as my last update was all but lacking in regards to eyecandy, I give you Uren and Myrian, respectively wielding the first bard and druid epic on Antonius Bayle. Also worth noting is Elrriks completion of the warrior epic, which most definitely needs a graphical overhaul.

03.10.04 Mastery of Tactics completed - written by Nineveh

The Projection of Tactics trial was successfully beaten today after numerous learning attempts. Many an oaf found themselves aptly struck down by Kyvs with an accuracy that even outshone Anthas's performance. For reasons beyond my comprehension I was selected as one of the Kyvs primary targets, and unfortunately spent most of this encounter attempting to evade quiver after quiver, deeming the visual aspect of this update to be somewhat lacking.

01.10.04 Mastery of Power completed - written by Nineveh

Post the last update we ventured into Tacvi in hopes of overwhelming Pixxt Kretv Kraxt with our newly obtained level 70 raidforce, though much to our disdain, five mere levels was far from sufficient to best this highly disconsolate encounter. Despite not defeating the fonetical impossibility, we made solid progress and managed to endure the infamous fourth wave of hatchlings. Hopefully there will be an obituary to read here shortly.

Onwards to more enjoyable news. The mastery of power was completed today, in what was practically an epitome of success (phrase chosen merely to appease Timmok). A fair amount of tactical discussion resulted in a plan which seemingly worked without flaw as we haughtily enforced a rather dubious play nice policy against the blithely unaware kunark raid force.

We also finished two new class epics, namely the enchanter and cleric one, Zourite and Einon respectively posing alongisde Zorrbald, who was thoroughly upset for being left out of the last update.

26.09.04 Omens of War exploration - written by Nineveh

Aproximately one and a half week into the expansion most of our guild have breached the level 70 barrier, and without further ado, our exploration of discord commenced tonight within the Muramite Proving grounds. So far these guild trials have proven themselves to be highly innovative, offering both a challenging and enjoyable raid event. Our first completed trial was the test of specialization which was completed sans too much adversity on our second attempt, though admittedly, the lockout timer on these trials can be somewhat of an annoyance.

Shortly thereafter we attempted the trial of power, and I think that I speak for the entire guild when I proclaim this to be one of the best encounters ever made in Everquest history. Play nice policies definitely come into play as you attempt to best a guild equipped in full old world planar armour and their original epic weapons. Sadly these remnants of a lost age proved to be beyond our abilities tonight, though hopefully we can prove worthy adversaries should we meet anew. The test of adaption was next on our agenda, and already some tendencies from the GoD expansion became evident as we bested our second trial of the day.

New epic quests were also introduced with the Omens of War expansion, and like many a guild we have gotten a few of them completed, namely the Shaman, Wizard and Beast Lord one. Zorrbald has also wielded his new weaponary, though I had not been able to catch him online for a brief photo session, thus we will have to manage without the latest iksar fashion.

15.09.04 Omens of War, let the carnage begin - written by Nineveh

In lieu of the anticipated Omens of War patch, six of us toyed with the idea of making a dedicated exp team attempting to reach level 70 in the shortest amount of time possible. Once obtaining the first level we decided to continue our session as long as the experience gained remained somewhat equivalent to the starting amount. Personally I would never have expected myself to have the endurance to complete such a task, though as the night passed by, we found ourselves still online, the result being Mitnick, Bendail, Nineveh, Myrian, Missbailey and Frezzer being the first six to adorn themselves with the Omens class title, respectively listed in chronological order.

09.09.04 The Gates of Discord - written by Nineveh

In the red corner, still undefeated after 785 encounters serverwide, the warden of the north, the taelosian roadblock, the phonetical impossibility, Pixxt Kretv Kraxt!

As we draw nearer to yet another everquest expansion, I would like to take a brief minute reflecting upon the most recent one, namely the Gates of Discord. Despite the arduous critic it has received, supposedly being the direct cause of Afterlife, Fires of Heaven and similar guilds throwing in their towels, the taelosian continent has definitely had its moments.

Initially, the idea of deeming six trials a necessity for zoning into Kod'Taz were far from trailblazing following the flagging tradition of the Planes of Power. However it seems fairly obvious that several tuning issues were overlooked when you consider the fact that upon release, merely warriors had the ability to tank these trials, and obviously a cleric to keep up with the healing required. An enchanter present would also increase the rate of success, leaving half the group open to the various classes in need of the trial in question.

Once having gained access to Kod'Taz, these necesseties became more evident, in some cases actually depending on two clerics and two warriors for certain single group events in the zone. Though when a guild became eligible for raid events, the first two were quite entertaining, yet the third trial soon became the complete reciprocal. The test of transcendence was far from finished, and who can forget the infamous brawn, intelligence, wisdom messages that supposedly was more than ample information in order to unlock the mysteries of this event.

Uqua sadly became the next bottleneck, far from remotely possible, guilds were oblitterated seconds post of zoning in, and eventually this was the most obvious cause of dismay amongst the users, causing a mass exodus from the game, and continuous praise for the upcoming Blizzard title, World of Warcraft.

Qvic was a rather refreshing change, no initial bugs, and quite an original encounter found in Cynosure. The flaw of this zone though, was the entrance to the next tier, namely Txevu. Endless trains have been endured from various guilds running through this zone at random, on too tight a schedule to engage in a clearing, followed by a coth sequence. Simplicity at best would be merely adding a portal stone at the Qvic zone in, granting access to the zone in area of Txevu, requiring minimal clearing, though with the requirement of having the Cipher of Txevu to operate it on a regular basis.

Inktu'ta was without a quiver of doubt the highlight of the Gates of Discord expansion, original challenging encounters, deeming the tactical aspect of the fight equivalently important to mere damage output. Having said that, the idea of rendering 90% of the raidforce useless against Zun'Muram Tkarish Zyk is far from what makes the required number of 50 people log on for this time consuming encounter.

Our most recent complaint lies within the walls of Tacvi, thus the opening paragraph. For those of you unfamiliar with Pixxt Kretv Kraxt, guilds serverwide have pretty much agreed upon the fact that she is unbeatable until either the release of OoW, or until developers find it in their time to properly tune the final phase of this expansion, a task which unfortunately is far from the topmost priority at this stage of Everquest.

Albeit the negative aspect has been somewhat overwhelming, GoD has most definitely been a challenge unlike any expansion to this date. I must admit that the developers in general have done a top notch job in designing diverse encounters needing more than brute force. The general consensus still stands though, unfinished content has wreathed a most unhappy userbase, and has directly caused a major part of the old school players to look elsewhere for onling gaming.

Omens of War will be a welcome change to our raiding agenda, and its contents and availability will to a huge extent decide the future of Everquest, though this is merely my personal opinon. Concluding this rant, I would like to mention the fact that I have personally taken over Reffi's most excellent progression page, and have of late been receiving many an email. Hopefully this page will continue to be the primary source of progression data during the exploration of the new expansion as well. The page can be accessed by clicking here

18.08.04 Zun'Muram Kvxe Pirik slain - written by Nineveh

The Zun'Muram bloodline found itself at the brink of extinction tonight as the second two headed monstrosity, and one of the selected models in Taelosia which does not resemble a goat, fell tonight, marking the halfway completion of Tacvi. This particular encounter was supposedly quite intriguing, with various aspects of strategy deemed a necessity to successfully complete the event. Progression appears to be swift of late, thanks to Myrian and Knekker for providing the visual portion of this update.

17.08.04 Pixxt Riel Tavas & Zun'Muram Yihst Vor slain - written by Nineveh

Two additional named mobs fell within Tacvi tonight, post the dismissal of a thoroughly nerfed Pixxt Xxeric Kex. Several preliminary attempts eventually yielded the solution to defeating Pixxt Riel Tavas, followed, much to our surprise, by a rather easy dissipation of Zun'Muram Yihst Vor, proving to be far less resistant than his esthetic equivalent in Txevu.

As I was prevented from attending this raid personally, pictorial coverage was secured by Knekker and Zourite, much obliged to the both of you. Further exploration of Tacvi to follow.

05.08.04 Pixxt Xxeric Kex slain - written by Nineveh

Pixxt Xxeric Kex was defeated today for the first time on Antonius Bayle. Authentic access to Tacvi obviously made quite the difference, and the fight itself was all but a haughty display of superiority. Our prior attempt ended with our nemesis at 2%, thus with heightened anticipation we blithely charged knowing victory was definitely at hand.

It is with a touch of acerbity I must admit that with Xxeric at 5% I attempted to secure some action footage of the goat mutation, resulting in a premature death, which again deems the pictorial coverage to be somewhat lacking. Nevertheless, further updates from Tacvi to follow.

04.08.04 Zun'Muram Tkarish Zyk slain - written by Nineveh

The guardian of Tacvi fell tonight amid the remnants of his two inquisitors and the elusive ritualists. Many a night has been spent within these chambers attempting to complete what might possibly be the most poorly designed encounter on the Taelosian continent. Rendering litterally 75% of the raidforce useless during parts of this event, is far from what makes this game enjoyable.

Zun's somewhat limited availability postponed our way overdue legitimate entry of Tacvi, though hopefully tonights endeavor should grant peace of mind to the swedish shaman community. We have also made solid progress with the first encounter in the seat of the slayer, thus I fear having to write another tidbit rather soon.

24.06.04 High Priest Nkosi Bakari slain - written by Nineveh

High Priest Nkosi Bakari fell within the caves of Txevu tonight, in what was confirmed by developer Rashere to be a serverwide second kill of this particular mob. Having literally spent every available raid night in the High Priest's all but charming presence, this was without a quiver of doubt, the most challenging adversary we have ever defeated, though also one of the most entertaining.

Twenty minutes post the point of engage, a weary raidforce was seen uttering a display of euphoria knowing their week long dedication to this sole event had yielded access to Zun'Muram Tkarish Zyk. One attempt, merely for educational purposes, was made against the gatekeeper of Tacvi, though suffice to say, we hardly dented the monstrosity. Albeit being a unique high end weapon, the monk staff had far from a noteworthy appearance, however, having received inquiries, behold Karde in all his... glory?

19.06.04 Sandgarden completed - written by Nineveh

The second trial of Txevu is commonly known as the Sandgarden, this highly innovative name originated due to the fact that the room housing this particular event is covered with, you guessed correctly, sand. Based on the lore triggering this event, I personally feel something reminiscent of the gladitor aspect wouldbe more suiting, nevertheless, Sandgarden it is, and without further ado, this ordeal was completed tonight.

Having our champion successfully complete his battle against the infamous Runt, the two familiar faces displayed in the first picture graced us with their lithe presence in the arena. Numerous hours were spent amid not less than two servercraches, though each attempt yielded important information concerning the key to winning this encounter.

Merely two days have passed since our last update, thus people have not been given a proper chance to display their unmatched humour. Until such a time arrives, I give you, Jander Iwsforfood in addition the loot of Ixt Hsek Syat.

17.06.04 Txevu exploration - written by Nineveh

Our exploration of Txevu has barely commenced, though despite limited time within the zone as of yet, far from aided by the sporadic server patches, the Ukun Bloodfeaster event was completed yesterday evening. Stonemites appear to be a trendy part of high end taelosian content, and I personally doubt we have seen the last of their all but annoying presence.

Generally, a rather uneventful week, despite managing to pull the fifth phase in Plane of Time to the lair of Terris Thule. For further inquiries on this particular exploit, feel free to contact Zorrbald! In an attempt to entice the viewers of this page to return in the imminent future, I will disclose the fact that our homepage is currently being revamped, hopefully ready for display without too much ado. In addition a new newscript will enable others to update the news, liberating the readers from my drivel.

07.06.04 Noqufiel slain, Inktu'ta completed - written by Nineveh

Having recently completed a reflagging round of Kod'Taz, consisting of Uqua and The Altar of Destruction, we were in a position to critically select an essential playerbase, a reciprocal to our prior attempts with a raidforce numbering in the high 40s. Kelekdrix himself has at this stage become routine, and the encounter was all but an epitome of success.

Despite quite a few directionally challenged members, the following stonemite event was also completed sans too much adversity, opening the path once again to the infamous cursebearers of Noqifuel. Arriving adequately prepared since our last defeat, refined tactics and preparation secured our progression through this unique part of Inktu'ta, introducing us to Noqufiel himself for the first time.

The final endeavor literally caught us by surprise causing both confusion and chaos, leaving Noqufiel victorious merely minutes later. The approach was slightly changed, and as the battle lithely continued, realization of victory dawned upon those present in the unmasked chapel, though sadly, a druid managed to secure the ending blow.

Detailed loot information can be found here. Further news to follow from the leading zone in regards to interiour and decoration within Taelosia, namely Txevu. A popular saying claims that everything changes, though through the following two Azeri quotes, we intend to disprove that theory. The first quote occurred during a Plane of Fire raid aproximately 15 months ago, while the latter one originated in Qvic last week.

27.05.04 Cynosure Kvanjji slain - written by Nineveh

Cynosure Kvanjji fell within Qvic today after having bested our guild twice with the aid of his persistant arbitors. Personally I found this encounter rather enjoyable as it differs somewhat from the traditional fighting pattern. Far from certain we applied the correct approach for this particular fight, we still ended up victorious.

Our visists to Inktu'ta has yet to yield any progression unfortunately, as our latest expedition crashed moments post slaying Kelekdrix. Believe it or not, Gyldendahl actually managed to die on top of the corpse, removing any pictorial value, thus address potential complaints his way should the need arise.

Bards are still encouraged to apply, both cross server and local applications. Check our forum for further details, or contact Nineveh in game.

24.05.04 Kelekdrix slain, recruiting bards - written by Nineveh

Our second night in the unmasked chapel once again brought us up against Kelekdrix, Herald of Trushnar. With refined tactics and nearly a full expedition, the first trial of Inktu'ta was completed.

The remaining part of the evening was spent exploring the second trial, and I am pleased to announce some progress was actually made. Loot of the night consisted of a loop of endless insanity in addition to a mana augment. Kelekdrix was apparently concerned in regards to his personal belongings, leaving all loot within a pile of bones near his altar, thus pictorial material is somewhat limited.

On an auxiliary note, we are currently looking for two active Bards. Obviously being flagged for Kod'Taz will be a definite plus, though not necessarily a dealbreaker if lacking. Our primary concern is activity and ability. View the application forum on our boards for further details, or send Nineveh a tell in game.

16.05.04 Barxt slain, Uqua Completed - written by Nineveh

Many a night has of late been spent within the onerous walls of the ocean chantry, attempting to breach the harmony of respectively the Temples of Rage and Fury. Despite the similarity to our guildname, Barxt proved to be no ally, though on our fourth night amid the spirits of Uqua, the guardian of Qvic fell to a vast force of 54 adventurers.

On behalf of the guild and myself, I would like to extend an extensive gratitude to Timmok. Without his efforts, this victory would be weeks away. For many of us, it has been quite some time since the last adrenaline rush occurred during an EQ raid, though I remain fairly certain I was not the only one enraptured by this encounter tonight.

Hopefully all of those who endured the tedious hours of mastering this encounter, will find further motivation as the intricate storyline of Taelosia unwreaths itself. Prior to engaging Qvic in full force, obvious reflagging events will take precedence, in other words an additional Uqua / Altar clearing

29.04.04 Recruitment Closed - written by Nineveh

Having received many an application during the last week, recruitment has been closed until further notice. Reflagging is well under way, much obliged to a joint Coirnav with Magus. One exception to the recruitment status however, those already flagged for Plane of Time might inquire ingame via one of the officers whether or not the possibility of joining exists.

22.04.04 Recruitment open - written by Nineveh

We are currently seeking a new playerbase to join our guild. All classes may apply through either our application forum, or by contacting Karde in game. Keep in mind that a vaste number of people continuously inquire about the requirements needed and playtimes deemed a necessity to join the guild, thus should you not get an answer immediately, be patient.

Like many a guild, there are certain qualities we expect from any applicant, though activity is the primary trait we are looking for. Obviously gear and flags already in possession will be a definite bonus, though the guild will help you obtain the gear and flags needed should you be willing to put an effort into your trial period.

Cross server applications are most welcome, and though we realise leaving your home server and friends might be onerous for some, feel free to ask some of our other cross server members how they were received and treated upon moving to Antonius Bayle, namely Thadew, Myrian, Galathorn and Galiaan.

Details concerning requirements, playtimes and similar can be found here and here

22.03.04 Summoner circle - written by Nineveh

The Pixxt summoner circle in Kod'Taz has long been an intriguing event, both in regards to difficulty and to its potential role in the progression pattern.

Having merely attempted the ring once prior to today, the ring was completed sans too much asperity, and various items were distributed amongst those present. Tingle and trille once again reap the acclaim for providing the pictorial coverage.

15.03.04 The Altar of Destruction - written by Nineveh

Having successfully completed the open beta encounter of transcendence a few days ago, it was with an eerie feel of anticipation that we approached the taelosian altar yesterday evening.

Sadly we were all but disappointed upon discovering the tendencies of the trial mentioned initially, apparantly leaving the players completely clueless in regards to what is actually required to kill a mob, has struck home with our beloved developers at Sony.

Eventually stumbling across "the correct energy deemed a necessity to vanquish this foe", the final encounter was a complete reciprocal of the trial in general, in other words, enjoyable.

The keeper of the altar was however not in a photogenic mood, thus seconds after pressing F10, entering my camera mode, I was easily disposed of, limiting the pictorial coverage, but believe it or not, Trille actually managed to snap the occasion, though unfortunately with my corpse displayed amid the remnants.

12.03.04 The Chamber of Transcendence - written by Nineveh

In lieu of Wednesdays patch, the chamber of transcendence was revisited in hopes of more specific aid in regards to what kind of brawn was needed to slay the individual sentinels of Ikkinz.

Like many a guild, our progress in Kod Taz had until this point been halted thoroughly by this all but broken encounter. Though rumour proclaimed several guilds had actually completed the event prior to the changes brought live this week.

Thus we also blithely attempted a haughty zerg fest of random killshots and intricate division of melee and caster dps, to no avail, merely to illustrate some of the vagaries that took place in the chambers of destruction.

Nevertheless, with the implemented changes, the encounter was completed with ease, and baffled yet jovial magicians felt useful for a change as the sentinel weak to coalesced damage fell to the ground. As the pictures most likely illustrate, I was not present personally, and the screenshot button seems to have eluded my guild once again.

Leading the quote section, Ztroke "accidentallY" clicking the portal within Innoruuk's lair, whilst Spellquestor used the occasion to clear his own name, also worth noticing, the secret of getting a cleric to join your Kod Taz group!

29.02.04 The Chamber of Glorification - written by Nineveh

The chamber of Glorification was the second raid event of Ikkinz, and much in coherence with the initial trial, it was completed Saturday without much effort involved.

Anthas became the first ranger to adorn himself with the latest weaponary fashion GoD has to offer, and as the picture in addition to the following quotes will clearly display, quickly became the center of attention based on the esthetic quality of this particular item.

We also attempted to complete the trials of transcendence, though it is with a touch of acerbity I will refrain from uttering any profanities in this update. Instead readers of this page may click here for Timmok's more than adequate coverage of our progress there.

28.02.04 The Chamber of Righteousness - written by Nineveh

The Chamber of Righteousness yesterday became the first raid encounter Raging Fury completed within the Gates of Discord expansion. Having successfully led a group to victory through the initial three trials within the broken trialgrounds, Klavs was able to trigger a more onerous path to the Altar of Destruction, and more importantly, one with the ability to host more than merely six adventurers.

Dismissing the haughty tales of overwhelming difficulty in regards to every GoD encounter, six artifacts of righteousness were recovered sans the rumoured audacity of the events deemed a necessity for reaching the chamber in question.

The storyline of the taelosian continent is beginning to unwreath itself, though prior to actually participating in intricate lore, two further trials await.

During the clearing we were also lucky enough to pick up our first pieces with a 40% damage increase focus, one ended in the hands of Frezzer, who somewhere in between his sporadic linkdeaths actually managed to state an interest, and the second to Hoyas.

Also of interest, Haillon, the undisputed halfing king of aggro, had an epiphany and miraculously enough bought spell casting subtlety 1 as of last night.

19.02.04 Gathering at Jubii - written by Nineveh

A gathering was held anew in Copenhagen two weekends ago, with high attendance from both active and retired members, in what has been a trademark of our guild, namely the social real life gatherings.

Through Taxa, our event coordinator, Jubii was willing to sponsor not only the location, but also the beverages, yes you read that correctly, free beer, a fact which even lured Yrgass out of his dormant existence in Sweden. Without disclosing too many details, Yrgass most definitely left his mark with those reponsible for cleaning post of the jovial occurrences Saturday evening.

On a sad note however, Taxa's reign of social events will be receding as real life priorities have taken precedence. Faiar will be attempting to fill the void, and I am certain many look forward with interest to what oddities might occur in the near future.

Having merely attended one of Taxa's infamous events personally, it is still my privilege to thank him on behalf of the guild for all the effort he has put into planning and executing these gatherings.

As far as GoD is concerned, we have little of interest to report as of yet. Apart from flagging most of our guild for Kod'Taz, the rest of the Taelosian hemisphere is still under thorough investigation

Pictures from the gathering can be viewed by clicking here

06.02.04 Lo and behold! An update - written by Nineveh

For aproximately five months now, this page has been completely static, primarily due to the fact that the recent expansion was possibly one of the worst if not the worst to this date, though that is my personal opinion, merely to underline.

Raiding activity has been somewhat feeble as of late, the once challenging plane of time clearing has become all but routine, and currently occupies from four to five hours once a week.

In lieu of the upcoming Gates of Discord expansion however, promising new content in addition to way overdue alternate advancement abilities seem to have awakened the interest for many once again, thus attendance is on the rise, and hopefully there will be new victories to report here in the coming weeks, as I personally see little if no point to posting a weekly Quarm story here.

Last but not least, what update would be complete sans some images and a few random quotes. The first picture displays our strategy should Klavs occasionally die during a plane of time clearing, and the second shows the everlasting interest in the trailblazing lore.

03.09.03 Quarm slain, Plane of Time completed - written by Nineveh

What can only be described as the most variable time clearing as of yet, ended with the slaying of Quarm tonight, concluding the planar progression for Raging Fury.

The first day commenced with barely stumbling through the initial trials. succeeding with what could only have been 30 seconds worth of margin. The first challenge that awaited within phase 4 was Tallon Zek, and despite several premature deaths, we ended up victorious. Vallon Zek proved himself to be the challenge of phase 4 once again and promtply bested the guild three times in a row prior to us calling it a night.

On the second day however, the guild was all but revitalized as Vallon Zek died easily on the first attempt of the day, followed by a swift clearing of what remained in the fourth phase,in other words Terris Thule and Saryrn respectively.

The fifth wave was cleared in record time, Innoruuk fell sans troubles followed by a flawless vanquish of Cazic Thule. The fight against Rallos Zek was reminiscent of our first encounter with the god of war, and the night ended with Bertoxxulous being slain.

Quarm was in other words the sole challenge remaining within the plane of time for our third day, and having merely attempted the beast twice prior to today, expectations were high, tactics new and untested. As the fight endured and the first two heads dissipated, it seemed our tactic was working as intended, and belief that we would actually end up victorious spread throughout the raid force. Though close to 30% our maintank was slain, followed by a brutal genocide from Quarm's remaining duett.

A battle without comparison transpired the last two minutes, and nothing short of pure will and devotion secured the victory as Quarm was slain on the nights first attempt. The following lore was obviously the highlight of the evening, though Citrua, Tingle and Yrgass walked away with a new shoulder, bracer and earring.

The last challenge within the planes of power has been completed prior to the release of the Lost Dungeons of Norrath, and hopefully there will be new challenges residing within the new expansion.

27.08.03 Plane of Time, Innoruuk slain, phase 5 completed - written by Nineveh

Innoruuk was the first deity to fall this evening, and thus all of the gods in phase five had been bested, though not during the same clearing. Eager to see the much anticipated lore... Cazic Thule fell next in a sub par performance.

In our prior update, Rallos Zek was somewhat humiliated and stamped as being the weakest opponent we had to far encountered in The plane of Time. The God of war was most definately out to prove otherwise tonight as he slaughtered us easily twice in a row, leaving the guild rather baffled considering how the previous meeting with this particular mob had ended.

Third time is the charm though, and with Rallos Zek defeated, this time with his dignity intact, the following decay of Bertoxxulous opened up the gateway to the coalesced monstrosity of the planar deities, namely Quarm. Cudos to the god of war for his efforts!

Having reached the final encounter Everquest at its current stage has to offer, Quarm was obviously given a test run, though surprisingly enough, no corpse shot as of yet. Our attempt ended at 79%, in other words a work in progress.

23.08.2003 Phase 5, Cazic Thule, Rallos Zek and Bertoxxulous slain - written by Nineveh

Innoruuk was to find himelf the sole habitant of the fifth tier of time as Raging Fury swept through three quarters of the deities on the same day.

Cazic Thule, second god to grace the face of Norrath was the first to fall, and minor adjustments to our tactics from last nights attempts were more than sufficient to secure a comfortable victory against the god of fear amid his auras and facless shrieks.

Ralloz Zek, sans his warlord title, was the next expected challenge, and to our surprise, this encounter was, bar none, the easiest we have so far stumbled upon within the Plane of Time. Planar transgression has obviously weakened the god of war, when compared to his original state within the Plane of Tactics.

Last but not least, Bertoxxulous the god of disease had been given some interesting attributes which made this fight one of the more enjoyable so far. Post an attempt experiencing area of effects, Bertoxxolous fell on the second charge. Personally I was not present for the second attempt, thus pictures are not available.

20.08.03 Plane of Time, phases 1-4 completed - written by Nineveh

Apologies for the lack of updates as of late, though unfortunately real life occurrences have prevented me from actually writing this way overdue news update.

Since obtaining access to the illusive Plane of Time, Raging Fury has progressed rather well in regards to the challenges residing within the final frontier of the Planes of Power. The first three stages in the Plane of Time were completed sans onerous efforts, and both Terris Thule and Saryrn were bested with ease in addition to the first of the Zek brethren, Tallon.

Vallon Zek proved himself to be the first real challenge of the zone, though through extensive testing and numerous learning attempts, access to the fifth phase was obtained tonight. Cazic Thule was chosen as the first target of the fifth phase, and post the stage of enrage, the god of fear still managed to emerge victorious in his first encounter with Raging Fury.

As I've personally have not been present for any of these encounters, pictorial material is highly limited, however Scoop managed to locate his screenshot hotkey on several occasions, in other words providing all of the graphical aspects of this posting.

04.08.03 Better late than never - written by Nineveh

Darladir finally sent me the full size pictures from the gathering, and they are both available for public viewing through clicking here and here. Be advised both are rather large, thus discretion is advised for modem users.

Ragrax was cleansed once again today in an encounter I personally did not attend, though rumor has it the duration was less than two hours, which is most definitely an improvement from our prior experiences. Exploration of Time soon to come.

31.07.03 Coirnav The Avatar of Water slain - written by Nineveh

Less than 20 hours post our slaying of the Rathe Council, we found ourselves engaging Coirnav The Avatar of Water with a vast prepared raid force. We all knew exactly what needed to be done, but in known style nameds roamed freely through our main camp, obliterating everything in their way. Seemingly on the brink of failing yet again, control was re obtained, and as Coirnav himself was engaged, nothing but certainty of success remained.

With all four elemental gods dissipated, access to the plane of time was granted to the majority of the guild today, though prior to commencing upon the final challenges of the Planes of Power expansion, basic reflagging necessities, i.e. one more round of the Rathe Council, will be prioritized.

30.07.03 The Rathe Council slain - written by Nineveh

As most have probably noticed, these pages have remained rather idle as of late. There comes a time in every guilds planar progression where certain obstacles have a tendency to halt motivation and the jovial aspects of the game, and those of you who have faced the Rathe Council know for a fact how disconsolate this particular encounter is.

On our fourth day of attempting to successfully control all twelve council members we finally managed to spawn the illusive Avatar of Earth himself, and whilst preparing the mob decided to blithely roam into our camp where a totally unprepared, unbuffed raidforce was caught haughtily off guard. Nevertheless, this mob is neither known for his area effect or his melee damage output, thus the final minutes passed with ease as the realization of victory dawned upon those present in the stronghold of the twelve.

Words can hardly describe the feeling of relief experienced once seeing such an encounter beaten, fairly certain I can safely assume an ubiquitous enraptured feeling had the entire guild ceased for a few moments after succeeding. The Coirnav encounter bested us at 40% on our closest attempt so far, but boosted with confidence and knowing the last obstacle on our way to time lies within the plane of water, I fear having to write another update rather soon.

14.07.03 Gathering photos - written by Nineveh

Merely tossing up a pair of images from the gathering upon request. I know they are somewhat limited in regards to size, but until Darladir sends me the original ones, there is not much I can do

01.07.2003 Raging Fury, when pixels meet - translation by Nineveh

Below you will find a translation of a danish article written about our guild about two months ago in the magazine PcPlayer, older news can be found below the rather lengthy text update

For several years, Everquest has set the standard amongst the diverse selection of available massive multimedia online role playing games. Though at times it seems somewhat hard to comprehend how such a game manages to keep a constant player base with the continuous stream of newer games to the marked. Perhaps there are more to games than merely graphics and revolutionary gaming concepts?

Entering a net café is for the blissfully ignorant often associated with inaccurate prejudice, depicted through the following urban legend.

Entering a cave dimly illumined by glimmering lights of monitors, hunchbacked youth glaring aimlessly into an alternate reality, apparently without aim whatsoever. As an outsider the sole feeling of being totally ignored reduces you to an analog footnote amidst a digital universe, immune to alien entry from the outside world. Accompanied by the repulsive bodily odors such as unwashed hair, cigarette smoke and dry sweat, captivating merely half of these scents would more than suffice for an arsenal of chemical warfare utilities. Even an experienced gamer might have trouble familiarizing themselves in the middle of seemingly endless aisles of Counterstrike and Diablo II playing machines.

Though the most pleasant surprise of them all, was encountering an arrangement which dissipated all these rumors and thoroughly inverted any existing tales

Raging Fury

The Everquest guild Raging Fury originated in the beginning of 2001, when a small group of players abandoned a larger guild due to differences with the residing management of the guild Gathering Storm.

The thirty players founded a new guild in February the game year with the name Raging Fury, led by Eberan and Rani. After moving from the American Rathe server to the European Antonius Bayle server the guild got properly settled through an established group of devoted players gathering during the same timeframe. The guild then consisted of 50-60 members, and one of the trademarks of the guild, even at such an early stage, was that the dominating part were considered older people than those one usually found in similar online games. Most of the members had lives outside the boundaries of the game, limiting their online time accordingly. Despite not being able to compete with other leading guilds playing times, Raging Fury has experienced great success through basing recruitment on quality instead of quantity, and during the creating of this article; they hold the position as second highest guild on Antonius Bayle, with Darkwind occupying the pole position.

Raging Fury has 73 active members and 34 non active members. Activity is measured through raid attendance, in other words how many raids each member participates in, compared to the total amount of raids held during a specific period of time. Also, the Hall of Honor was created to recognize those people who do no longer have time to play the game, but have in some way greatly contributed to the guild.

Read more about the guild at http://www.raging-fury.org

Arriving at the Boomtown net cafe an early Saturday morning in March, it is with somewhat limited expectations as to whether or not we would see anything out of the ordinary. A group of gamers staring into their monitors left hand resting over the keyboard with a firm grip around the mouse with the right hand, in addition to the necessities of soda supplies and cigarette packages within reach. Based on these assumptions it is therefore with great pleasure we enter a gaming scene vivid with personal relations, laughter and an ambiance none of us would have expected.

Jesper Angelo of PcPlayers has along with his American girlfriend Kianna arrived several hours ago and are already deeply involved in the game. They are borrowing two characters from Raging Fury, as a certain level along with equipment is required to actively participate at the level of today’s raid. Kianna appears not to bother much with the actual playing, but is instead striding around the room making different acquaintances, within short time, she has gotten to know ten times the amount of people Jesper has.

Jesper and Kiannas characters, named Humakt and Zarria Truesword respectively, met each other within Everquest in November 2000, a meeting which triggered sparks in both ends, resulting in a real life meeting which again has made them into a couple who are moving in together in a newly bought house in Amager, where they will be living with Kianna’s two children.

Couples

Jesper and Kianna are not the only couple present today however. In a remote corner resides another couple, named Carsten and Pernille, also known through the aliases Dimoe and Eppels. They appear to be playing the game as well, but are they really? Casting a quick glance over their shoulder most of the time actually seems to be spent chatting in the in game chat windows or enjoying a cup of coffee while waiting for something to happen. Carsten assures us though that a fair amount of concentration is required, and that this particular event is a ring event spawning several waves of enemies at specific times. Currently they are clearing the path to the point where the actual encounter will commence, and upon arriving, the actual preparation for the encounter will begin. This includes making groups, issuing special orders and buffing

One gets bewildered listening to the internal phraseology used amongst Everquest players, they assist, buff, loot and experience phenomena such as lag, trains and mobs which pop randomly after patches and similar. One could compare with watching an American football game without knowing any of the rules.

All of these expressions and terms seem to be a part of the everyday vocabulary for these players, and the initial impression is that they have spent far too much time playing the game, though that impression might be wrong. Carsten informs us that he is merely online due to it being a gathering, underlining the fact that there are more important things in life than playing eight hours a day, while glancing towards Pernille, being eight months pregnant. The desire to play lessens at a certain stage; the problem is that you have to invest a great amount of time to see the benefits in your character, especially if you are a member of a high end guild.

Carsten was already playing a great amount of Everquest when he met Pernille, and shortly after he told himself that he either had to get her involved in the game, or give it up himself. Shortly after creating her own character, Pernille found herself intrigued by the game, and shortly thereafter, they both found themselves playing for several hours each day. They both inform us that personally they see little difference in playing a game together in comparison to watching television or similar activities. Through Everquest they feel they are both actively participating in something, even though friends and family believe we are delirious, Carsten informs us. Even one of the speeches at their wedding contained elements from Everquest. Though it is not as abnormal as it might sound, as after a while one starts to think, breathe and live different aspects of the game on a daily basis. The most common thought is wondering what your guild is currently up to, but the most important thing is spending time together doing something both are comfortable with, and obviously being an influence in the gaming world.

Sense of reality

Pernille does not see any problems spending a huge amount of time within Everquest as long as it is with her husband. The fear of isolation and solitude applies more to younger players and not those already established with a place to live and a steady job. Currently we play when we find the time and want a break from everyday occurrences. Leveling your character to the next level is reward enough, even though attending raids has a tendency to procrastinate the progression. Quickly testing to see whether or not Carsten and Pernille have been deceiving us we are relieved to find out that their upcoming baby will be named either Christoffer or Rebecca, and not something originating in a fantasy game.

In the middle of the conversation, a large amount of activity arises on both Carsen and Pernilles monitors as the whole pack of Everquest adventurers suddenly move as one, and what seemed a calm environment is swiftly transformed into a myriad of graphical effects. Though the battle is won, it was a difficult victory as seemingly half of the guilds members were outside enjoying a beer.

Social Organizer

Raging Fury’s first gathering was held when the guild was formed and took place in the old Diablo net cafe, situated on Værnedamsvej, Copenhagen. The next gathering was launched on Funen, but since then the remainders have been held in Copenhagen. The guild consists mostly of Danes, though French, German, English, Norwegian, Swedish, American and even a few Pakistani members complete the roster.

Post the 8th gathering, plans for the succeeding is already underway, and it promises to be one differing from the previous ones. It will be held in Dyrehavsparken, out in the analog world, and some of the plans consist of "rundbold", a game quite similar to baseball though without the role of the pitcher. Tim Jensen, responsible for arranging each of the gatherings, informs us that he would like to witness a gathering not involving Everquest to ascertain that the tone stays just as friendly even though a computer is not within the immediate vicinity of the gathering. Tim has been playing Everquest since a month post its release and has since day one been a member of different guilds. A close circle of 20-25 Danes have since the earliest days stuck together, and most of them are now members of Raging Fury.

Tim has never truly devoted himself to the amount of playing time as most of the players in his guild, shortly after Everquest went live, his daughter came into this world, and quality time with the family will always be treasured above the game he says. His role in the guild is therefore not a raiding one, but more of a social organizer making sure that gatherings occur frequently and that the ambivalence of the guild is a pleasant one. We are told it is mainly administrative work booking all the computers, negotiating prices and similar issues, though it is not done out of desire for respect or recognition, merely based on wanting to see people meet and enjoying each others company. Tim claims to be highly fascinated with the combination of communication through pixels and reality, and watching fellow guild members thoroughly enjoy themselves at a gathering he has spent close to 30 hours preparing, is ample reward.

The work of organizing these events is made easier through Tim's job working as a concept manager with Jubii, a job consisting of commercials and a wide area of contacts, which again offer aid when it comes to securing reservations and events. Each reoccurrence adds to his experience and makes the next planning session easier than its predecessor. In addition to himself, Søren and Ricco, known in the game through their characters Faiar and Scoop, make up the gathering planning group of Raging Fury. Tim assures us that as long as people fly in from abroad to attend the gatherings, he will continue arranging them.

Blood sweat and tears,

Even though Raging Fury is a clan of considerable size and history, they have no ambitions of becoming the leading clan on Antonius Bayle, mainly due to the amount of stress and further devotion time wise it would involve. Tim Jensen informs us that the challenges of keeping the guild at its current level against mobs that are growing stronger and stronger in an environment that keeps everyone satisfied is more than enough. He feels that the guild is represented by pleasantry, seriousness and a fair amount of skills, which again is based in the average age amongst the members.

Raging Fury does not accept any members below the age of 16, and the age span of the current members is from 18 to 45. Each member’s individualism and ability to think for themselves is something that comes in handy during onerous times, and the guild also has a certain tone of communication which might be hard to comprehend at a younger age.

The guild structure is also important in regards to specific roles divided amongst the members during raids. As a guild you are constantly faced with the challenges of a newly created enemy, limited by the amount of resources available to you. Ambition and drive is also an important factor, how badly one wants to progress, in search of both new challenges and equipment.

The amount of time needed to accomplish all of this is one of the decisive factors as to why Everquest players have become so addicted to the game, and also one of the reasons why Tim Jensen does not believe the sequel will have an equivalent impact on the gaming marked.

Most of the older characters in Raging Fury have been developed over two to three years, and will not be easily abandoned for a fresh start within a new online game, Tim assures us. Raging Fury often experiences that some members take a leave of absence for some weeks whilst trying out a newly released game, but in most cases, they all return back within a month or so. Regardless of neater graphics or unique concepts, most will reside in Everquest as long as possible.

Timesink

Bo, playing the characters Rani and Timmok, is one of the older members of Raging Fury which originally founded the guild. He is one of the players in the guild who uses alot of time playing the game, both because he finds it fun, but also due to the challenge of keeping such a large amount of people in their reins during a raid. Bo informs us that the game is constantly becoming more and more time demanding as challenges grow harder and the general equipment base on the players improve, while trying to configure his keyboard into matching the setting he normally uses at home.

Bo studies computer science and spends about five hours a day playing Everquest when time permits, in addition to scanning a large amount of message boards for additional information, while drawing up new tactical ideas for the guild. He has been an online strategist since the early 90's through the role playing game DIKU-MUD, and openly admits to being one who snuck into databases merely to gain access to the game. Having gotten his interface satisfactorily configured, Bo returns to the game after removing a fair amount of labels and graphical effects in order to orientate through the assembly.

Christina is located merely a few feet away playing her character Trille. Her boyfriend Kasper is situated close by, but Christina is actually married to another character in the game. This even occurred when she suddenly received a backpack filled with roses, and such an offer is hard to resist. Kasper started playing Everquest shortly after he met Christina, and she was intrigued by the game, though somewhat nervous in the beginning, it soon adapted into her lifestyle. She, like Pernille, says that her family has hard to comprehend the addiction. Christina says that the cyber activity is an important part of the game for her, and has a theory that her particular class, the cleric, is a class popular amongst the female part of Everquest. Again she underlines the importance of the social aspect of the game, as she does not really consider herself a role player. A comparison she makes is to a virtual high school with little to no rules, challenged by each others personalities and company.

Warmth

Our participation in the 8th Gathering of Raging Fury has come to an end, however the members of the guild are readying themselves for a night at the Bombay discotheque arranged by Tim Jensen. Nocturnal events have slowly begun to embrace Axeltorvet, and while leaving we understand more of the luring ability games such as Everquest possess. Jesper and Kianna appear oblivious to us leaving, and it is with a small feeling of envy we leave the net cafe for Copenhagen’s cold winter night.

09.06.2003 Stronghold of the twelve infiltrated - written by Nineveh

After many a completed ring event within the plane of earth, access to the stronghold of the twelve was obtained this monday. We eagerly await the challenges within the deeper parts of this particular elemental plane, although I remain fairly certain the eagerness is mostly related to the feeling of not having to complete another ring in the earthen badlands based on flagging necessities.

Most of you have seen the model for the magician earth pet, thus instead of depicting the Final Arbitor, I will use the occation to welcome two servertransfers to Antonius Bayle, namely Thadew from Erollisi Marr and Galiaan from The Nameless. Galiaan appears to have familiarized himself rather well with the role of the rangers of Raging Fury. Give them both a warm welcome.

Commencing the quote section this time, which is rather limited due to somewhat reduced playtime as of late, with a follow up from the mention of Huneyy's death in Lower Guk, in addition to a definite sign of having spent too much time within the plane of fire when the following witticisms occur,

29.05.2003 Shaman recruitment - written by Nineveh

We are currently looking for 1-2 dedicated shamen to fill our ranks. Our current requirements in addition to level 65 is mass group buff and cannibalize. If interested, either post on the application forum, or for a more discreet approach, send an ingame tell to Haillon or Karde.

26.05.2003 Phara dar slain! - written by Nineveh

Though we have yet to progress any further in the highly elaborate storyline within the Planes of Power, we have been far from inactive. In lieu of the recent allowance of gating spells in Veeshans Peak it was decided to pay the once considered tier4 zone a visit, about three years post of its prime.

The eerie feel of exploration and challenge was all but gone, as was only to be expected, though it was still quite the apprechiated reciprocal of countless cr's resulting from Hoshkar Gating, hours of clearing see invis guardian wurms, to mention some of the dreaded qualities that Veeshans Peak once had. I have taken the liberty of adding a link to the first encounter I personally ever experienced in VP, as returning brought a certain nostalgic stirr, Silverwing Nov 2000

We have not given the Coirnav encounter a new attempt as of yet, though our tactic stands readier than ever before, and while awaiting the availability of the avatar of water, Xegony was bested once again, along with the tyrant of fire.

In addition to some new members, we also welcome the return of Shah from his dormant existence as a student, comments to the quote section, I will get you next time Yrgass!

11.05.2003 Xegony, the Queen of Air slain - written by Nineveh

For several weeks Xegony has been the obvious progression target on our agenda, though for various reasons, attempting this event had until this weekend been postponed.

Though this weekend it was decided that the time had come, and Eryslai's royalty was both measured and conquered within 30 hours. Through the learning process this encounter proved itself to be, the guild displayed both stamina and persistance at a level which has rarely been seen prior to the battles within the kingdom of wind.

Klavs stood his ground for 55 minutes whilst the various waves were defeated through a tactic which was thoroughly modified from the first nights attempts. Congratulations to Thaolin on her Vest of Phoenix Feathers and to Karthu his Simple ring of Purity Focus has now been shifted towards a different element, namely water, and having witnessed the ability of our guild today, the Coirnav encounter is most definately doable.

The magicians of Raging Fury have a tendency to work somewhat different when it comes to organizing their summoned arrows, as displayed below, the comparison of Celsius versus Thaolin. Following in the quote section the monk squad normally appears quite able when it comes to deciding upon which way to move the raidforce, though at times..

21.04.2003 Recent events & quotes - written by Nineveh

Post our first slaying of Rallos Zek during the second week of February, Raging Fury has learned their ways in the elemental planes, and a new barrier was breached within the guild as we harnessed our 180th elemental armour piece within the plane of fire today.

During the last couple of weeks, we have in addition to slaying Fennin Ro for the second time completed our key to Xegony, and eagerly await our first attempt on the wench in the sky. In the depths on the plane of water, we have also started learning the Coirnav script, needless to say, we are far from done, though we left the reef today somewhat enlightened, and with anticipation towards attempting once more.

06.04.2003 Fennin Ro The Tyrant of Fire slain - written by Nineveh

The cathedral of doomfire lay before Raging Fury once again. We came amply representated for our second encounter with Fennin Ro, more members than have been seen online simultaneously ever wanted to be a part of what was to be our first banishment of an elemental god.

Klavs valiantly stood his ground through the entire fight, and apart from random overnukers (Haillon) failing to prevail, this was definately one of our better performances as a guild post the release of Planes of Power.

We have been prospering quite significantly as of late, Klavs and Karde now weilding their blades of war, Fennin Ro added to our killist, and Xegony soon to find herself in different company.

Loot consisted of Ifir, dagger of fire, Earring of eternal flame and a pair of plate leggings

Timmok has for this weeks quote galore composed various utterings for our enjoyment, they can be viewed by clicking the following picture

01.04.2003 April fools! I have no real update - written by Nineveh

Although we have not broken any barriers as a guild lately, after having been thoroughly harassed by guildmates, I was convinced that the option of updating the guildpage despite actually having surpassed a new challenge actually existed.

My original intentions were to await us killing Fennin Ro prior to making an update, and we recently had our first attempts at him, which despite the lack of a corpseshot in this update has left the guild in general more than confident that the first elemental god will not dictate the plane of fire for much longer.

Without further adue, I merely present some random everquest pictures and quotes i found after browsing through my screenshots, though with an editors note, my playing time has been highly limited as of lately due to finals exams and such, thus if the quotes mean nothing to you, they probably do not mean anything to the rest of the world either. (lack of material)

Last but not least, the most contradicting saying ever to be uttered in the guildchat of Raging Fury:

08.03.2003 Vulak'Aerr slain in Copenhagen - written by Nineveh

For what I believe was the seventh time, Raging-Fury was gathered at Boomtown in Copenhagen. These real life events have grown to be a trademark of our guild, and symbolizes the fact that there are much more to the high-end game of Everquest than merely the strive for loot. (even though I am sure Hoyas would disagree!)

Each of these gatherings consist of one raid, often a target we have never bested prior to the gathering, or something which has been way overdue for us to achieve as a guild, followed by a night of enjoying the nightlife Copenhagen has to offer.

Vulaek'Aerr was the primary target, a ring we had attempted a few times prior to the release of Planes of Power, though as most of you are probably aware of, being subject to a few ring resets, combined with servercrashes, this ring was soon abandoned as newer content emerged. However, this being the sole challenge left in Velious, it was decided Vulak's time had come.

Once again we offer our most sincere grattitude to Taxa for organizing the event, like he has done many a time in the past, and knowing the gnome, we all remain certain there will be more to come. Apart from the slaying of Vulak'Aerr we have been attempting numerous elemental plane mobs, completing the necessary keys and so forth.

There used to be a section called fashion victims on this page, though due to the Legacy of Ykesha release, the amount of possible candidates have been overwhelming, thus the following display of a few randomly selected candidates will sadly be the concluding summary for the time being.

Last but not least, and most likely not the final sighting of the following occurrence:

22.02.2003 Solusek Ro slain - written by Nineveh

The Burning Prince stood solely between Raging-Fury and access to the fabled land of Doomfire. Having spent the last week in preparation through defeating every wizards nightmare, Xuzl, in addition to the remaining four trials within the flaming towers, an ample force deftly conquered Solusek Ro, despite several protests from Faiar proclaiming that the slaying of his deity would be all but impossible.

Fully flagged for earth, wind, water and fire, named mobs from within every plane were attempted and we obviously have quite a bit of learning to do when it comes to avoiding the named mobs dropping spectral parchments and diamonds in comparison to mobs similar in difficulty adoring our raidforce with elemental molds. Hopefully there will be pleasant news to report from the planes shortly.

08.02.2003 Rallos Zek the Warlord slain - written by Nineveh

As the attentive reader has hopefully noticed, these pages have been rather idle as of the last couple of weeks. In coherence with many a guild on numerous servers, we have been occupying ourselves with the infamous Rallos Zek encounter, and today we emerged victorious.

The portal to three quarters of the elemental planes have been breached, and on behalf of Klavs, I have the privilege of thanking everyone in Raging-Fury that contributed to the fall of Rallos Zek today. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and persistance you have all shown throughout this encounter. Our next progression lies within the Tower of Solusek Ro, and hopefully there will be news to report from the fiery plane shortly.

A few updates back we displayed a picture of Ceryx proudly adorning his battle armor. After thorough discussion, we unanimously decided that the following month would be dedicated to decking the under equipped iksar, and the result

As a new addition to the news page, we now present "name the encounter", where through the mere aid of a selection of quotes, the naming of the actual mob in question, should be a possibility

Concluding with a few random quotes taken during the last weeks, obvious evidence that even the most mentally stable player experiences delirious moments during the tribulations of the Rallos Zek encounter

19.01.2003 Tallon Zek slain - written by Nineveh

Within The Fortress of Zek, Tallon was found up and available for a change, and knowing the gate to Soluseks Tower would open through this deity's demise, neither encouraging words or blessings of faith were deemed a necessity.

Vallon also decided to grace us with his presence, and thus carebears throughout Norrath cheered vicariously

The warders of Raging-Fury are seldom apprechiated for their endeavors. Glistening displays of weaponshields, fletching, and countless outbursts in regards to line of sight, bow performance and tanking efforts.

The following pictures were donated by Grymin, and for the wood elves out there viewing with an open gasp, they are known to answer every fanmail.

16.01.2003 Lord Mithaniel Marr slain - written by Nineveh

The foundations of Marr's divine temple shook as Mithaniel was found lacking in every way against a vast force of adventurers seeking unfought battles. Losing merely an ogre the paladin was thoroughly disposed of as the march continued towards the tower of Solusek Ro

In recent events we have learned that Mortalis will be leaving Antonius Bayle for Venril Saathir. Truely a loss, and we wish them the best of luck. Fashion victim of the week is Ceryx, one of our main pullers, who despite his 2000 hp actually manages to stay alive from time to time.

12.01.2003 Agnarr the Storm Lord slain - written by Nineveh

Agnarr the Storm Lord, the abhorrence of Karana himself was confronted and defeated within the Bastion of Thunder today, a battle in which I personally did not participate, thus the pictorial material as well as quote of the week was donated by our newly appointed guildleader, Klavs.

Faiar was the source of inspiration for the following picture, and unless you actually play on Antonius Bayle, the oddity in the picture will most likely elude you.

05.01.2003 Bertoxxulous & Saryrn slain - written by Nineveh

The crypt of decay stood empty today as the plaguebringer himself was defeated in what can only be described as a way overdue kill. Our previous attempt ended post the point of enrage, and thus todays victoious outcome was especially liberating. Practically the entire guild participated, and with a higher turnout than we have seen in weeks, new conquests were definately within reach

Still amply representated, we learned Saryrn was up within the plane of Torment, a deity we had yet to attempt. Loaded with confidence from the previous slaying, Saryrn offered no resistance, and the path to the tower of Solusek for some reasons seemed shorter.

Apparanetly fighting a female deity is more than some can handle. The following two quotes occured during the fight, and are both necessities for the front page,

24.12.2002 Merry Christmas! - written by Nineveh

On behalf of Raging Fury, I have the pleasure and privilege of wishing the guilds and players of Antonius Bayle a merry christmas and thank them for the year that is about to end. Hopefully those of us that got along this year, will continue to do so in the next. I searched in vain for a suitable EQ related christmas photo, so until we actually kill something:

19.12.2002 For the hive! - written by Nineveh

Rydda'Dar was the barrier that withheld Raging Fury from entering the lower depths of the Halls of Honor, home of Mithaniel Marr. Upon learning that this dragon was up we soon found ourselves in the company of Mortalis, also seeking to flag their last members for an upcoming encounter with the deity.

Thus in collaboration, the two guilds came to the decision that instead of racing for this particular encounter, it would be of mutual interest to merely do what we were both there for, namely flagging every guildmember there. Boneheads of Butcherblock also had their local representative present, and faced against such a trio, Rydda'Dar was heard uttering the exact same words as Celsius

In addition to spending most of our time within the new planes, we have also visited Vex Thal on some occations, and obviously the ugly stick has struck again. I had to catch Faiar offguard in order to get a screenshot of his latest addition, whilst Spellquestor proudly wears his headpiece

29.11.2002 A peek behind the curtains - written by Nineveh

Normally a guild refrains from displaying encounters which did not exactly turn out as planned. One could almost believe raids rarely fail, trains never occur and that Klavs actually stood his ground against the Emperor for more than 5 minutes prior to the release of Planes of Power.

All of the above can easily be dismissed as mere fables, and to illustrate Raging Fury proudly present the aftermath of a certain wizard chosing all but the right moment to show off a newly aquired Xuzl skill, though rest assured, others have experienced similar, and no it was not me!

Finishing up with a few random quotes, keep in mind that none of these are "serious", except for Deidda:

19.11.2002 Fail me once, shame on you. Fail me twice, oh we won - written by Nineveh

The lair of Terris Thule was actually found populated for once, and thus the forces gathered in preparation and anticipation for what was to be the first major milestone in the Planes of Power, not accounting for Kerafyrm's lineage nor the male version of Chikaka (residing within the Plane of Disease, and rather bold). Should you have further problems making the actual connection, feel free to inquire ingame.

The first planar deity slain, a more diverse zone selection available, two new trinkets, more accurately two Indigo Snake Bracelets and a Sable Lined Mantle and hopefully a continous line of updates equivalently prosperous still to come.

13.11.2002 Lord Inquisitor Seru slain - written by Nineveh

Late Monday night the inner sanctum of Seru was desecrated as the Lord Insquisitor himself stood against a vast force of adventurers with one sole purpose, completing their last lunar challenge.

With the slaying of Lord Seru, each nemesis from the depths of Ssra to the darkest corner of Vex thal has been defeated, and thus we bid the shadows of Luclin adieu.

Loot consisted of Yttrium Studded Leather Boots , Heavy Yttrium Chestplate and Bow of Storms

See you all in Halls of Honor

02.11.2002 Vex Thal Cleared - written by Nineveh

Raging Fury ventured into the depths of Vex Thal this weekend, for the first time encountering the challenges of the second floor of Luclin's goldmine.

Vex Thal is known to many as one of the better incomes for high end equipment, though you also risc exposing your guild to another feared everquest syndrom, namely the fashion one.

Recently Antonius Bayle managed to rid itself of being known as the server with the most players totally lacking a sense in regards to clothing, as Mentin was finally convinced to put on a robe after a unanimous guild decision.

Though Frolaak seemed determined to reinstate this, atleast that is the only possible explanation one could reach after seeing the following picture

Two days of continous pulling later, we were faced with Aten Ha Ra herself, and in collaboration with the rest of our weekend, things went as they were supposed to.

Craon, Zwickel, Frezzer and Azmodai all adorned themselves with her loot, atleast the three later mentioned ones as the rumour has it Craon is currently occupying himself working on a certain faction.

The goals we set ourselves as a guild in Luclin were all met with this clearing, and focus has now been shifted towards the Planes of Power, thus check back for upcoming planar battles.

Just as I am writing this Im also hearing that we've cleared fear (*hug* AE spells*) and killed Cazic Thule. Being a devoted Thulite myself, this will offcourse get no more attention here(go kill tunare instead bastards!), instead let me tell you what Ive been up to recently.

Lately Ive been lucky enough to meet and spend time with a person who is now very dear to me, this combined with work has limited my time and will continue to do so in the future as she is now moving over here to live with me :)

But while it may limit my playtime on Everquest, we both enjoy playing around on IRC alot and thats what I really wanted to talk to you about :

Raging Fury has a channel on the Quakenet IRC Network, its named #raging-fury and you can chat with your local Everquest idols by getting this program here
So why should you come hangout with us ? Simply cause this the only way for you to experience something thats vaguely familiar to what is Raging Fury's guildchat. Dont believe me ? Let me give you a few examples :

Gizzig : Hello, male 29 looking for cute little girl
Gizzig : fuck wrong channel

Slitz : when I turned 15 I wanted a moped but my mom bought me a bloody horse

Niza : according to koom's post, i am more active than 85% of our clerics, and done 1 raid in the last 15 days

Laughter : Tie here says english men really suck in bed...is that true? <-- my personal favorite

dano : men have it easy, we practice wrists all the time :P <-- funny how this comes from a bard isnt it ?

hic-hic-hic : best couple = deaf husband, mute wife

Blakron : and she sleeps with my guild leader.. just to punish me.. iam sure.. part of her evil plan

Faiar : A_uber_DKP_program tells the guild 'GRATS LODUR! Cenne: You dont REALLY want that. Moonshade: I know about that ninja episode Craon: You forgot to take your pills

Lodur : im not THAT old
Eberan : actually, you could be my dad ?
Lodur : if i was your father, you'd be a nice kid :)

Karthu : just buy em 5 drinks and they are yours
Karthu : if they can handle more you dun want them anyway cause they are too expensive

Thats it for this time folks, expect to see Hoverrangs regular updates back when we kill something again

Regards
Eberan
Guildleader of Raging Fury
